Shy Kisser Morning Line Favorite in $15,000 Bella Stakes for 3-Year-Old Quarter Horses

Shy Kisser Morning Line Favorite in $15,000 Bella Stakes for 3-Year-Old Quarter Horses

FAIR MEADOWS, OK—JULY 14, 2025—A competitive field of 3-year-olds an dup fillies and mares will square off in the $15,000 Bella Stakes at Fair Meadows on Thursday, July 18, going 350 yards. First post is set for 9:45 p.m. (CST).

Morning-line favorite Shy Kisser (5-2) leads the line-up from post position five for owner Leobardo Auginaga Soria and trainer Juvenal Licona-Vazquez. The six-year-old daughter of Kiss My Hocks, out of Shyann La Jolla by Streakin La Jolla, was bred in Oklahoma by Paul Tonderum and purchased for $19,000 at the Heritage Place Sale.

She comes off a strong win in the $100,000 Dee Raper Sooner Stakes (RG1) at Remington Park, where she edged Hooked N Gone by a nose with a 96 speed index, and boasts lifetime earnings of $237,864 from 28 starts. Veteran rider Mario Delgado, who guided her in that last stakes win, retains the mount.

The second choice on the morning line is Woopaa (3-1), which is breaking from post position six for owner Robert B. Mashburn and trainer Jonathan Chavira. The four-year-old sorrel mare by Reagal Eagle, out of Furrst Call by Furrtreeous, was bred in Oklahoma by Richard Joneson.

She competed in the $177,000 Dash For Cash Derby (G2) at Lone Star last season and recently scored in a strong $15,000 conditioned at Remington, outdueling Skyline King and Sr Dark Storm in a sharp 96 speed index effort. She will be ridden by Cordarelton Benn.

Flying Nova 123 (9-2) should not be overlooked. This three-year-old filly will break from post position three for owners Rick and Connie Dickson and trainer Jesus Ruben Ruiz.

Sired by leading third-crop sire Flying Cowboy 123, out of Sr Shegone by Mighty B Valiant, Flying Nova 123 was bred in Oklahoma by her owners. She won the $15,000 Gold Driller Stakes at Fair Meadows last out in front-running fashion with a 96 speed index. Roman Cruz, who has guided her to multiple wins, will again be in the irons.

The Bella Stakes is open to fillies and mares, three-year-olds, and upwards. It will run the classic 350-yard distance. Fans can see a close finish among these well-matched contenders.
