VINTON, LA–JULY 8, 2025–A field of accredited Louisiana-bred 3-year-old fillies will line up for the $134,755 Delta Downs Louisiana-Bred Oaks final on Saturday night at Delta Downs.
The final is carded as Race 7 on the program with a first post time of 8:29 p.m. CT. The 400-yard event concludes the series for fillies who qualified in trials held on June 18.
Headlining the field is Rf Imperial Choice, the 9-5 morning-line favorite who finished second in her trial effort, just behind San Lorenzo Jezz. The daughter of second-crop sire Imperial Hint (TB) is out of Rdd Obvious Choice by Heza Fast Dash.
She’s owned and trained by Ismael Solis-Guevara and will be ridden again by Juan F. Garcia, Jr. Bred by Rogers Farm/Tim and Jennie Rogers, she was a $10,500 LQHBA Yearling Sale purchase.
With 16 lifetime starts, Rf Imperial Choice has compiled four wins and two seconds for earnings of $96,387. Earlier this season she captured an allowance at Louisiana Downs and qualified for the $100,000 Mardi Gras Oaks at Delta.
Second choice on the morning line at 7-2 is One Sweet Tsunami, who turned in a solid third-place finish in the trials. Owned and bred by JBJ Ranch (David Jones), the filly is by One Sweet Jess out of Jb Fast Movin Ocean by Ocean Runaway.
Trained by champion trainer Kenneth L. Roberts, Sr., One Sweet Tsunami will be piloted by Jose A. Rodriguez. She has made four starts to date with one win, a maiden-breaking score on May 17 where she held on gamely at Delta Downs. She’s earned $15,500 so far.
Completing the trio of top contenders is Rf Fast Dash N Train, listed at 5-1 on the morning line. The Freighttrain B filly, bred by Rogers Farm/Tim and Jennie Rogers, is owned by Jaime Cardenas and trained by Miguel A. Castillo.
She will have Jorge J. Garcia aboard for the final. This bay filly has won three of eight lifetime starts, including the Lassie Futurity RG2 last May. She has banked more than $160,000 to date. Rf Fast Dash N Train was a $57,000 LQHBA yearling purchase and looks to rebound off a mild fourth-place effort in her trial.
Saturday’s final is set for 400 yards at Delta Downs. The winner’s share of the $134,755 purse will distribute 50% to first place with the balance spread through 10th. First post time for the Delta Downs program is 6:15 p.m. CT.
