VINTON, LA–JULY 8, 2025–The stars of Louisiana’s 2-year-old Quarter Horse crop will converge at Delta Downs on Saturday, July 12, for the $597,622 restricted Grade 1 Lee Berwick Futurity, a marquee event for accredited Louisiana-bred juveniles.

The 350-yard final is set for a Race 10 on a stakes laden card Saturday with estimated post time of 10:17 PM (CDT) under the lights at Delta.

Headlining the field is morning-line favorite RF Fast Dash N Blood (6-5), owned by Jaime Cardenas and trained by Miguel A. Castillo. The gelded son of champion sire Apollitical Blood, out of Fast Dash N Deb by Heza Fast Dash, bred by Rogers Farm and Tim and Jennie Rogers with start from post 5.

A $80,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale purchase, he has already earned $171,794 from three wins in five starts, including a dominant trial win where he stopped the clock in 17.463 for the 350 yards, earning an impressive 99 Speed Index.

He also captured the Laddie Futurity(RG2) in May with a gritty rally and was a finalist in the Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2)at Louisiana Downs.

Jorge J. Garcia retains the mount on the heavy favorite who has shown versatility on both dry and wet tracks, boasting back-to-back trial wins by daylight margins.

Looking to turn the tables is #8 Luziana Man (9-2), co-owned by Rosalio Espinosa and Jerry Deville, Jr. and trained by Jose R. Espinosa.

The gelding by multiple stakes sire Dominyun, out of Jewels Fortune by First Down Jewel, was bred by Jerry West and purchased for just $13,500 from the LQHBA Yearling Sale.

Luziana Man comes in off a stylish trial victory where he drew off by over two lengths in 17.562 (96 SI) and is no stranger to matching strides with the favorite—he finished a close second to RF Fast Dash N Blood in the Laddie Futurity RG2.

He has proven reliable under wet or fast conditions with three wins from four starts and $61,912 earned. Noe Castaneda will be back in the irons as Luziana Man looks to deliver an upset for his connections.

The purse distribution will award 50% to the winner, with all starters qualified from the June 20 trials.
