Multiple stakes winner Rc Corona King will head the $50,000 Jess Burner Stakes Sunday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs.

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—MAY 29, 2025–The Jess Burner Stakes is the card's highlight on Sunday, June 1. This professional handicap race will feature competitors aged four years and older, racing over 400 yards for a purse of $50,000.

The morning line favorite at 2-1 is Rc Corona King, a five-year-old gelding who is the highest money earner in the field. Throughout twenty-three races, he has amassed earnings of $432,109 for owner Jose R. Riojas.

 This Eye Am King gelding is a multiple graded stakes race winner, conditioned by Gerardo Quinonez. He will be ridden by returning jockey Sergio G. Dominguez from post position two.

The second pick at 3-1 odds is Ez On My Mind, an eight-year-old mare sired by Genuine Strawfly and out of the mare Shirleys Honor (TB), owned by David and V. Jeni Ellis.

Ez On My Mind has proven a formidable competitor, having won six races and secured six second-place finishes throughout her racing career. She is trained by Luis Daniel Iturralde, with Omar Iturralde set to ride from post four.

From the rail position, number one is the third pick at 4-1 odds: Bad King. He entered the race as a recent winner, securing a victory by a half-length in the G2 Pepsi Cola Stakes on February 15. This four-year-old gelding is sired by Eye Am King, out of the mare Start Somethin Bad, whose sire is Pappadito. He is owned by Nove Racing, LLC, Triple R Racing Stables, LLC, Antoinette Gonzales, and Patricio Venzor.

Bad King has amassed $340,890 from fourteen races, achieving four wins and three second-place finishes. James J. Gonzales III trains him, and Christian Cardenas will ride him.

Competing alongside are Big Posies Cartel, Da Edge of Gray, Dash Flash, Jesses Wish, and Just En King.
