OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 8, 2025—Two hundred and forty-one horses will participate in the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity trials on Thursday and Friday night at Remington Park. Thirteen trials will be held each night to determine the top five fastest competitors advancing to the $1,161,010 finals on May 31, 2025.

Night One features 121 juveniles competing, including the filly Flying Joy 1, trained by Trey Wood and ridden by her regular jockey, Ricky Ramirez. She aims to achieve her third qualifying time on Thursday evening.

The daughter of Flying Cowboy 123 started her career impressively, winning the Oklahoma Futurity [G2] and then returning to qualify for the Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Futurity [G1], where she finished sixth. Flying Joy 1 has earned $220,134 from four starts.

Flying Joy 1 was purchased for $49,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale and will race from post position nine for owner David R. Rogers.

Trial thirteen features Little Sure Shot. The daughter of Flying Cowboy 123  broke her maiden in April, winning by 1 3/4-lengths while steadily widening her lead over her opponents in a 300-yard race. Jacob Josue Garcia trains her and will be ridden by leading jockey Juan Pulido.

Little Sure Shot earned $11,865 from her first start and will compete for owners Jon and Brant Barley from post position number two.

Night two, with 120 entries in the trials, highlights the supplement of Jc The Hitman, racing in trial number nine from post number nine.

Jc The Hitman earned his first victory confidently, winning by 1 3/4 lengths on April 13th. He previously finished a strong second in his March outing despite getting bumped during the race. The son of leading sire Flying Cowboy 123 is a homebred gelding owned by Jose Cervantes. Josue Jacob Garcia conditions with leading rider Juan Pulido in the saddle.

Wera C is the even-money favorite in trial twelve with post number six. The daughter of Flying Cowboy 123 won the Oklahoma Juvenile Stakes, surging ahead of the field for a 1 1/2 length victory.

Wera C was purchased for $73,000 at the TQHA Yearling Sale and is trained by Al Ray Watson for the owners, CH Horse Racing, LLC. Regular rider Nestor Duran is aboard.

The ten fastest qualifiers will meet on May 31st for the $1,161,010 350–yard final. Juvenile finalists will also compete on May 31st for an estimated $100,000.
