FARMINGTON, NM—MAY 6, 2025—Ten New Mexico-breds are set to compete on Friday in the Jimmy Drake Stakes [RG3] at SunRay Park, with the morning line favorite, My First Luv, showing early odds of 3-1.
My First Luv recently secured a significant victory in the New Mexico Breeders Stakes [G3] on April 18 and a second-place finish in the Sunburst Stakes [G3] on March 2. She has had an impressive racing career, with three wins from eleven starts and earnings of $142,220.
Owned and conditioned by Joel Gutierrez, the three-year-old filly sired by First Moonflash was purchased for $9,500 at the Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Yearling Sale. Brian C. Barraza will ride My First Luv from post position number five.
Rc Corona King is the highest money earner in the field, boasting lifetime earnings of $424,009 with seven wins from 22 starts. The son of leading sire Eye Am King is a four-time graded stakes winner, including the Red Or Green Stakes [G2] earlier this season.
