OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–APRIL 16, 2025–Leading trainer Dee Keener is stacked with 11 of the 35 juveniles headed into the $150,000-estimated Grade 1 PSBA American Paint Classic Futurity trials scheduled for Thursday, April 17, at Remington Park.

The top contender from Keener's stable is Turbulent, a filly by Painted Turnpike. The 4-5 morning-line favorite will be looking to maintain her undefeated record, going three for three.

Turbulent dominated her training race, leading to a successful debut in the Grade 1 Oklahoma Paint Futurity Trials, where she won by 1 3/4 lengths and clocked the fastest qualifying time. She returned to the $208,300 finals with a smooth victory by a 1/2 length.

In Race 7, the fourth and final trial, Turbulent will face off against Pretty Lil Poison, who also looks to be putting things together with 9-2 early odds. Pretty Lil Poison finished third in the Oklahoma Paint Futurity [G1], 1 1/2 lengths behind Turbulent. The Matt Whitekiller-trained filly is sired by Painted Turnpike.

The final trial is expected to be the fastest of the night. Turbulent secured post position #8 and will be ridden by Roman Cruz, while Pretty Lil Poison drew post position #3 under leading rider Francisco Calderon.

Trial 3 will showcase the only other two-year-old from the trials program to win a stakes race. Cancel Culture, also trained by Keener, claimed victory in the $35,000 Oklahoma P&A Juvenile on March 22. With 2-1 early odds, Cruz will be riding the filly in hopes of capturing her second career win.

The ten fastest qualifiers to the 330-yard final are set to compete for the $150,000-estimated BSBA American Paint Classic Futurity finals on April 25, 2025 at Remington Park.
