LOS ALAMITOS, CA–MARCH 14, 2024–Gary Laramie’s Jessica Cruz and Ed Allred’s Remember Her, a pair of stakes winner in 2023, will face off fourth time in their careers when the two hard-knocking mares headline the featured $13,500 allowance for distaffers in race nine on Saturday at Los Alamitos.

The featured event is the final leg of the Pick 6 sequence which features a carryover of $10,496. 

Jessica Cruz, who defeated males when winning the 2023 James Smith Memorial Handicap, and Remember Her, the winner of the La Pacifica Handicap last year, have been on similar schedules for the past 15 months.

During that span, the two mares have raced on the same night six different times, while facing each other three times with Remember Her finishing ahead of Jessica Cruz each time.  Their last encounter came just over four months ago when Remembe Her was fourth and Jessica Cruz sixth in the running of the Falling In Loveagain.  

Remember Her’s more recent outings include a victory in an allowance event on January 7, while Jessica Cruz’s efforts include a runner-up effort in the Dashingly Handicap also on January 7 and an allowance victory on December 2.

The field to this allowance event will also feature Queen For Cash Handicap winner Forever Dynasty, who ran third in the Connie Hall Stakes on February 24; Southern California Derby finalist Phoebes Baby Girl; and three-time winner Feldzpar.
