Eyesa Freighttrain B, Cardiac Cowboy Headline Oklahoma Derby Trials
LQHBA Million Futurity(RG1) runner-up Eyesa Freighttrain B will head 55 other sophomores vying for a spot in the Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby trials on Sunday at Remington Park.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MARCH 8, 2024–Party Tyme Racing's Eyesa Freighttrain B and Jo Rice's Cardiac Cowboy head a group of 56 sophomores entered in Sunday's 350-yard Oklahoma Derby (G3) trials at Remington Park.

A bay son of Freighttrain B trained by Jose R. Espinosa, Eyesa Freighttrain B will be making his season debut off of a 2-year-old campaign during which he earned $517,794 from eight races and finished second, a half of a length behind winner Special Wild Train B, in the December 16, $1-million LQHBA Million Futurity (RG1) for Louisiana-breds at Evangeline Downs. The colt drew post 4 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon in the third of six trials.

Cardiac Cowboy is a homebred son of Flying Cowboy 123 trained by Jason Olmstead. The brown gelding will be making his first start since September 29, when he scored a half-length victory in the 350-yard, $204,000 Valley Junction Futurity (G3) at Prairie Meadows.

Cardiac Cowboy drew post 2 and will be ridden by Edwin Escobedo.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the March 23, $200,000-est. Oklahoma Derby final.
