SUNLAND PARK, NM–FEBRUARY 28, 2024–Over Da Edge, a graded stakes winning daughter of Eye Am King racing for Miguel Y. Gallegos and Mauricio Gallegos, will make her next start in Sunday’s 350-yard, $100,000 Sunburst Stakes (RG3) for New Mexico-bred 3-year-old fillies at Sunland Park.

Over Da Edge will be shortening in distance off of her neck victory in the 400-yard, $193,000 Shue Fly Stakes (RG2) on February 4. A $24,500 purchase from breeder MJ Farms at the 2022 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, the filly is trained by Eric Valenzuela.

Over Da Edge drew post 2 and will be ridden by Sergio Becerra Jr.

Mi Cielo Ranch’s Sweetest Emotion is coming off of a third-place finish, a neck behind Over Da Edge, in the Shue Fly. A brown daughter of Jet Black Patriot and a $40,000 buy at the ’22 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, the filly is trained by James J. Gonzales III.

Sweetest Emotion drew post 5 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon.
