Cir Lady Moon will look to defend her Denim N Diamonds title when she heads the 350-yard dash for 3-year-old fillies and mares on Saturday night at Los Alamitos Race Course

LOS ALAMITOS, CA–FEBRUARY 22, 2024–A Pick Six Carryover of $28,534 and a pair of a stakes races each with a field of 10 distaffers will highlight an action-packed Saturday night at Los Alamitos.   

The Pick Six will start in race number four and will include the running's of the $35,000 Denim N Diamonds Handicap and the $18,000 Connie Hall Overnight Handicap.

With the new money expected to be wagered into the Pick Six, the total pool could be over $100,000. First post for the racing program is 6:15 p.m.     

Daniel and Carol Lee’s Cir Lady Moon will look to defend her Denim N Diamonds title when she heads the 350-yard dash for 3-year-old fillies and mares. The mare by Moonin The Eagle enjoyed a great year in 2023, as she won four stakes races including multiple graded stakes.

The Denim N Diamonds was her first stakes win last year and the Utah-bred will look to make it her first stakes win of the season after finishing out of the money in the Grade 1 Charger Bar Handicap on January 7. 

Three other recent Charger Bar participants are also returning in the Denim N Diamonds. They are Ed Allred’s Nymphette, who ran third to Pattys Saint in the $100,000 Charger Bar, plus P & J Racing’s AJ Born Runnin, who finished fourth, and David Hinkins’ Budder Off Friends, who finished just ahead of Cir Lady Moon.                                        

The Denim N Diamonds field will also include Clanfield Act Stables’ Frivolous, who won the Dashingly Handicap earlier this year, and Allred’s local stakes winners She Goes Up and Remember Her.

The Connie Hall has also attracted 10 ladies and will include the stakes winners Eye Live For Candy and Jessica Cruz.
