More Summer Sale Yearlings Head 16 Mardi Gras Schooling Races on Saturday at Louisiana Downs

BOSSIER CITY, LA–FEBRUARY 7, 2023–State-bred juveniles takes the spotlight Saturday at Louisiana Downs when 101 2-year-olds will compete in 16 schooling races.  First post is 11:00 a.m. ICST).

All participants are eligible to make the final payment to the March 8 and 9 trials for the Mardi Gras Futurity. The $600,000-est. restricted Grade 2 300 yard final will be contested on March 30.

Get Gone, a $70,000 Louisiana-bred colt that sold at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale last September, will head Race 5 for owner Wilson One Consulting. Trainer Dwayne Breaux named jockey Juan Garcia. Jr. to ride the colt by first-crop sire Gold Heart Eagle V from the G3-placed Oak Tree Special mare Eyema Special Candy.

Get Gone is a half-brother to Ruidoso Futurity(G1) finalist Tempting Special and from the family of champion and champion sire Jess Good Candy.

Pollitical Dreamin, a $57,000 LQHBA Sale graduate, will make his debut in Race 13 race for owner Blackmon Quarter Horses LLC and trainer Dale Keith. Leonardo Rodriguez will ride the Apollitical Blood colt out of Ms McDreamy, a half-sister to world champion Bodacious Eagle. This is the family champions Hearatswideopen, American Runaway and Hes Relentless
