SOUTH JORDAN, UT—MAY 22, 2015—A total of 38 2-year-olds have been entered in Saturday’s Ed Giles Memorial Futurity trials at Laurel Brown Racetrack near Salt Lake City.
The 10 fastest qualifiers from Saturday’s six 350-yard heats will meet in the $35,000-est. Ed Giles Memorial Futurity trials, sponsored by AA Callisters and Utah Quarter Horse Association-Racing Division, on June 6.
Last year’s $34,260 Ed Giles Memorial Futurity was won by Pass In A Flash, a New Mexico-bred son of champion First Moonflash racing for Antonio Chavira.
Saturday’s 10-race program includes three 350-yard 89 & Under Allowance trials, sponsored by Wyoming Downs Racetrack.
Post time for the first race, originally scheduled for 12 noon, has been moved up to 11 a.m. (MDT).
