Slreasonwithattitude and jockey Salvador Ibarra win the $39,644 Adequan Grants Pass Downs Derby Challenge on July 5 at Grants Pass Downs.

GRANTS PASS, OR–JULY 5, 2026–Slreasonwithattitude delivered a strong stretch run to score a mild upset in the $39,644 Adequan Grants Pass Downs Derby Challenge on Sunday afternoon at Grants Pass Downs.

Ridden by Salvador Ibarra, the sorrel filly tracked the early pace before taking command and drawing away to a three-quarter length victory. She covered 400 yards in :19.397 and earned a 103 speed index while collecting the $19,029 winner's share of the purse.

Owned and trained by Sergio Leon, Slreasonwithattitude was bred by Jaime Martiniano Leon. The Oregon-bred filly is by Good Candy P and out of the Sixthirteen mare Lil Touch Of Dixie.

The victory improved her record to 6-3-0-0 and boosted her earnings to $26,689. She entered the race off a finalist effort in the Gary & Sherilyn Blattner Memorial Derby and was a finalist in last year's Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass Downs.

Kr Cartels Calamity finished second under Jose Garcia-Segura after racing erratically through the stretch. The colt completed the 400 yards in :19.479 and earned a 101 speed index.

Owned by Luis Gonzales and trained by Jose Rosales Gomez, the colt was bred by Kiss Ranch and sold for $12,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale. He is by champion Five Bar Cartel and out of the Foose mare KR Calamity.

The Beehive Futurity winner now owns a record of 11-4-3-2 with earnings of $76,604. He was coming off a third-place finish in the Gary & Sherilyn Blattner Memorial Derby.

Three Bars Blazin finished third under Eric Arriaga after closing with a late bid. The gelding races for owner-breeder Malon Cowgill and trainer Benito Curiel.

The son of Coronas Leaving You is out of the Shazoom mare Afterglow. Still searching for his first stakes victory, Three Bars Blazin now owns a record of 6-1-0-3 with earnings of $12,434. Last season, he was a finalist in the Far West Futurity.

Miss Sigarra finished fourth and was followed by Apolliticalcollusion, Vr New Dream, Cinderella Jg, and Jess F Y I. La Orgulloza and Toast To Jac were scratched.
