MEXICO CITY, MEXICO–AUGUST 7, 2025–The Sunday card at Hipódromo De Las Américas will showcase three stakes events, highlighted by the $44,174.95 AQHA Hipodromo De Las Americas Championship Challenge in race one. Also on tap are the $38,484.50 Jody’s Glory Classic in race six, and the Mexico Bred Distaff Derby Trials in races nine and ten.

The AQHA Hipodromo De Las Americas Championship Challenge opener will cover 440 yards, with three contenders vying for the championship title.

Leading the field at 2-5 on the morning line is The Singaporean, a four-year-old gelding owned by Cuadra Alpuyeca. Trainer Antonio García Carranza has enlisted jockey Heriberto Camacho to break from post one. Bred in Utah by Casey Whitaker, the son of Mr Apollitical Dash out of Easily Ratified (by Desirio) has compiled a career record of 6-6-4 from 18 starts with $102,285 in earnings. His résumé features a win in the Sweetwater Downs Futurity and runner-up finishes in the Ron Moosman Utah Bred Futurity, Hipódromo Championship Challenge, and Hipódromo Derby Challenge.

At 5-2, Magical Jess makes a remarkable return after last racing in 2017. A career earner of $421,650 in the U.S., the gelding qualified for the Desert Classic Futurity, the Ruidoso Juvenile Stakes, and the G1 All American Futurity at two, before capturing the G1 Ruidoso Derby at three. Purchased by David Mora in 2024 for $6,200 from the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale, the son of One Sweet Jess out of Magic and Rhythm (by Red Hot Rhythm) was bred in California by EG High Desert Farms. He has prepped for his comeback with two workouts and will break from the outside post three for Cuadra JJ, with jockey E. A. García aboard for trainer Julián Gutiérrez.

Completing the field at 3-1 is Docs Famous Card, the only filly in the lineup and its youngest competitor. Sired by Docs Best Card out of Famous N Hot (by One Famous Eagle), she was bred in Texas by Jaime H. Gomez and races for San Lazaro de ARARA. She exits with a fourth-place finish in the AQHA Derby Challenge on June 22, 2025. Breaking from post two, she will be piloted by Arturo Vega Moreno.

The AQHA Hipodromo De Las Americas Championship Challenge Stakes post time is approximately 14:30. The winner will receive $44,174.95 and a championship title.
