Fabulous Rachel Vies For Her Second Stakes Victory in 2023 Race Track Chaplaincy of America Stakes

GRANDE PRAIRIE, TEXAS–OCTOBER 21, 2023–Heavy favorite Fabulous Rachel was late up to the wire by didn't disappoint after winning the $35,250 Race Track Chaplaincy of America Stakes at Lone Star Park Saturday night by 1/2-length over You Look Famous.

Jockey Victor Urieta, Jr. steered Fabulous Rachel towards the wire finishing with a 91 speed index in :19.864 seconds. The Juan Diaz, Jr. trained filly victory paid $2.80 to win and the $16,920 winner's take home surged her career earnings to $160,480.

Although Fabulous Rachel did not race her two-year-old season, she is no stranger to the winner's circle with five wins, two seconds and one third from 10 starts, including a victory in the Junos Request Stakes[G1] at Remington Park earlier this year and the Gillespie County Fair Derby in 2022.

Sired by One Fabulous Eagle, Fabulous Rachel is out of the Teller Cartel mare Teller Baja. She was bred in Oklahoma by Juan Medina and is currently owned by Darling Farms. 

You Look Famous, ridden by Noe Villatoro, vied with Fabulous Rachel toward the wire but was out finished for second. The 2023 Miss Retama Stakes winner has four career wins with $86,558 in earnings.

Trainer Frank Mendez condition You Look Famous for owner Dash Mastter Jess Partnership. The four-year-old daughter of One Famous Eagle was bred in Texas by Cesar Rosales out of the Jet Black Patriot mare Mi Angela. 

Mperativ trailed the two leaders for third under the guidance of Edwin Escobedo. The three-time winning daughter of Apollitical Jess has $125,552 in the bank and was trained by Jason Olmstead.

Breeder Bobby D. Cox of Texas sold Mperative for $36,000 in the 2020 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale to her current owner Jeffrey Scott Brooks. She is out of the Tres Seis mare Miss Aguilar.

Rounding out the order of finish is Apolitical Sass, Apocalyptical Sis, Valiant Bling, Hallmarke and Patriotic Attitude.
