Lynnder 16 Earns Fourth Invite To Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge Championship(G1)

ALTOONA, IA—AUGUSUT 20, 2023—Grade 1 winner Lynnder 16 earned her fourth trip to the Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge Championship(G1) Sunday night when she defeated Jess Give Mea Reason by a nose in the $39,270 Q-Racing Video Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge at Prairie Meadows.

The 7-year-old daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess won the 2020 editions of the Distaff Challenge Championship(G1) at Albuquerque Downs. She was fourth I the 2021 version, also Albuquerque and finished third last year at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

Tonight jockey Edwin Escobedo piloted her over the 400 yard course in :19.342 seconds, equaling a 107 speed index. It was the 19th career win in 38 starts for the Oklahoma-bred mare. The $18,850 winner's purse boosted her bankroll to nearly $855,000.

Trainer Jason Olmstead trains the mare, out of Tinys Corona Queen by Corona Cartel, for owners Tom Maher and Richard Tobin. Jim and Marilyn Helzer are the breeder.

The Grade 1 $100,000-est. Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge Championship will be contested on October 27 at Lone Star Park.

Stakes winner Jess Give Mea Reason earned $8,050 for her second-place effort under jockey Cristian Esqueda. Owned-and-trained by Stacy Charette-Hill, the 4-year-old Good Reason SA filly was bred in Oklahoma by Michael Pohl.  Out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Send Me This Wagon, Jess Give Mea Reason has earned $162,889.

Hill also saddled third-place finisher Early Surprise, a daughter of leading sire Hes Relentless, for owner-breeders Michael and Gail Ahern. The stakes winning 4-year-old finished half-a-length back to earn $3,927 for her effort. Jorge Torres rode the Oklahoma-bred out of Easy Downhill by Stoli. She has earned $102,536.

Completing the field were Political Fire, Nsm Parks Candy Girl, Apocalyptical Sis, A Star Tonite and Sfs Alice Strikes.
