Miss Royal Hawk won the Ocean Wave Futurity on Friday's race card at the Tillamook County Fair.

TILLAMOOK, OR—AUGUST 7, 2026—Miss Royal Hawk continued her strong juvenile campaign Friday afternoon when she defeated Decorated Heroine by a neck in the $10,800 Ocean Wave Futurity (not black type) at the Tillamook County Fair.

Contested at 220 yards over a fast racing surface, the Ocean Wave Futurity was for 2-year-old Quarter Horses. Miss Royal Hawk completed the distance in 11.584, earning a 92 speed index.

Ridden by Jose C. Guerrero for trainer Jose A. Rosales Gomez, Miss Royal Hawk collected the $5,400 winner's share of the purse for owner and breeder Ismael Villarreal.

The Oregon-bred daughter of third-crop sire The Cartel Hawk is out of Miss Royal Rumble, by Royal Shake Em. The sorrel filly entered the Ocean Wave Futurity with an accomplished record that included a victory in the Pocatello Downs Spring Futurity and a runner-up finish in the Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass.

Decorated Heroine finished a neck behind the winner in second and held a half-length advantage over Hott Smartie for the place. She earned an 89 speed index after lugging out.

Cristofer Ochoa rode Decorated Heroine for trainer Gilberto Madrigal and owner Brandon Madrigal. Bred by Bob Moore Farms LLC, the daughter of champion sire Valiant Hero is out of Painted Sable, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon. She earned $2,700 for her runner-up effort. Decorated Heroine was a $9,500 purchase at the 2025 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

Hott Smartie finished another half-length back in third, earning $1,296. The daughter of In first-crop sire Hott Pursuit was ridden by Salvador Ibarra and trained by Bryan Flores .

Tranquilino Flores is the owner. Gerardo Romero bred the filly, who is out of Ms Smart Asset, by Jess Louisiana Blue. Hott Smartie was purchased for $7,000 at the 2025 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

La Bella Mere finished fourth, Kvn Popped Off was fifth. Heza Runaway Wagon was scratched by the veterinarian.
