Im Rip Surges Late To Capture NDQHRA Dash for Cash Stakes

FARGO, ND—JULY 18, 2026—Im Rip rallied in the closing strides to collar pacesetter Lil Rider and score a neck victory in Saturday's $10,000 NDQHRA Dash for Cash Stakes (not black type) for North Dakota-breds at North Dakota Horse Park.

The 4-year-old gelding stopped the timer in 12.208 for 220 yards while earning an 82 speed index over a fast track with a 10 mph crosswind.

Owned and bred in North Dakota by Tyrell R. Moody, Im Rip earned $4,500 for his ninth career victory. The brown gelding is by Rip Tide out of Cowboywannab, by Cowboys Cartel, and is trained by Cole Wilson with Kody Kellenberger aboard.

Breaking alertly, Im Rip tracked the early leader before surging late to gain the advantage in the final strides. He was a 2026 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale repurchase (RNA) at $12,000.

Lil Rider finished a game second, a neck behind the winner, while holding a half-length advantage over the third-place finisher. The 5-year-old chestnut mare by Pyc Fun N Fancy out of Park Avenue Air, by Dashair, earned $2,000 for owner, breeder, and trainer Ronald W. Addicott. Olivia Bethke guided the North Dakota-bred mare, who set the pace along the inside before being overtaken in deep stretch.

Another half-length back in third was Avas Sparkle, who closed willingly after battling between rivals throughout. The 5-year-old chestnut mare by Dashing Jess Perry out of Jennas Easy Cash, by Such Easy Cash, collected $1,200 for owner John Bubel. Bred in North Dakota by Bubel, the mare is trained by Jamie Herman and was ridden by Dallin Herman.

The remainder of the field finished in the following order: Andres Jode was fourth, Travelin Princess finished fifth, and Shesa Okeydokey Jess completed the order of finish in sixth.
