TULSA, OK—JULY 18, 2026—Oklahoma-bred Flyindwntheturnpike dug in through the final 100 yards to fend off a determined challenge from favored Dulce Dinero, capturing Saturday's $20,000 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Juvenile by one-half length at Fair Meadows.

The bay gelding covered 350 yards in 17.909, earning a 90 speed index over a fast track while giving owner, trainer, and jockey connections a hometown stakes victory.

Flyindwntheturnpike, a 2-year-old Paint gelding by world champion Painted Turnpike out of Shez Wired Up, by Crm Livewire, was bred in Oklahoma by Madilyne (Maddie) Devereaux. Owned and trained by Matt Whitekiller and ridden by Cody Smith, the gelding broke sharply from the outside, quickly seized command, and dug in gamely through the stretch to hold off the late pressure.

The winner earned $7,600 from the $20,000 guaranteed purse. Flyindwntheturnpike has compiled a record of two wins, 1 second from five starts, with earnings of $21,482.

Dulce Dinero finished second after chasing the winner from the outset and engaging him in a prolonged duel through mid-stretch before settling for the runner-up spot by one-half length.

The Paint gelding by leading second crop Quarter Horse Dulce Sin Tacha out of Wf Gitter Dun Chick, by Gitter Dun, was bred in Oklahoma by Shari Burger and Vickie McBee and is owned by the breeders. Trained by Jesus Ruben Ruiz and ridden by Mario Delgado, Dulce Dinero earned $3,400 for the effort while finishing a head in front of third-place Jess Hot Mess. The accomplished juvenile now has two wins, three seconds, and one third from seven starts while banking $50,045.

Another head back in third was Jess Hot Mess, who overcame a slow start to rally strongly in the closing yards but narrowly missed second. The bay Paint filly is by Ali Babe Foose out of Jess A Sweetie, by Apollitical Jess, and was bred in Texas by Chad Hart. Racing for EEK Equine, the filly is trained by Luz Chavira and was piloted by Cordarelton J. Benn. Jess Hot Mess collected $2,200 for her third-place finish, improving upon a résumé that included two seconds and one third from five previous starts with earnings of $7,729.

The remainder of the field finished in the following order: Turbo Boost was fourth, Tc Cruising Crue fifth, El Taco sixth, Amplified Kool 918 seventh, and My Navajo Squaw eighth. Bp Hott Success and Smithworks Special were scratched.
