FREDERICKSBURG, TX–JULY 18, 2026–La Cholula unleashed a strong late rally to capture the $35,000 G.C.F.A. Paint & Appaloosa Maturity on July 18 at Gillespie County Fairground.

Ridden by J.R. Ramirez Jr., the sorrel filly races for owner and breeder Isabel Huitron and is trained by Shae Cox. The daughter of Chilitos out of the Shazoom mare Trampstamp covered 350 yards in :17.989, earning an 86 speed index.

The $13,300 winner's share of the purse boosted her career earnings to $20,085 while improving her record to four wins from eight starts.

VP Dash For Texas led for much of the race before settling for second under Nestor Duran. The Noe Rios trainee is owned and bred by Victor Villarreal. The son of PYC Prize Time is out of the Dr Beduino mare GW Money Dash and stopped the clock in :18.029 for an 85 speed index.

He now owns a record of five wins, one second, and three thirds from 14 starts with earnings of $78,558. His record includes victories in the Ochoa Stakes along with runner-up finishes in the Grade 3 Alamo Paint & Appaloosa Futurity and the TPHBA Paint Horse Juvenile Stakes. He also finished third in the Grade 3 Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge Stakes.

Jackson Davis 747 and jockey Eliazar Vera finished third for owners Val and Tonya Trower Gonzalez and trainer Octavio Saenz Jr. Bred by Courtney Watson, the gelding is by Chilitos and out of the The Louisiana Cartel mare Shes A Cartel Girl.

He completed the 350 yards in :18.066, earning an 84 speed index. Jackson Davis 747 now sports a record of three wins, one second, and two thirds from 14 starts with earnings of $41,298. His stakes victories include the Grade 3 Alamo Paint & Appaloosa Futurity, the TPHBA Paint Horse Juvenile Stakes, and the TPHBA Juvenile.

I Do Not Recall, Just An Eagle, Mrs Pyc Painted Nova, Hot Lota, VP Wired To Win, VP Gravel Pit Dancer, and Miss Nely completed the order of finish.
