Mc Prieta Earns First Career Stakes Win in Gary Waite Maiden

EVANSTON, WY–JULY 18, 2026–Fourth-fastest qualifier Mc Prieta broke her maiden in impressive fashion with a wire-to-wire victory in the $120,200 Gary Waite Maiden Stakes at Wyoming Downs on July 18. Ridden by Cerapio Figueroa, the brown filly stopped the timer in :16.649 while earning a 99 speed index.

Owned by Chuck and Erica Jaure and trained by Dru Hall, she was bred by San Gregorio Racing Stable Inc. and sold for $21,000 at the Los Alamitos Equine Sale. The daughter of champion Five Bar Cartel is out of the Walk Thru Fire mare MC Firewalker, whose family includes stakes winner DLT Runaway ($28,990) and Adashin Runaway ($40,535).

The $55,292 winner's share of the purse boosted Mc Prieta's bankroll to $63,792 while improving her record to two wins, one second, and one third from four starts.

Y O Classic Dash rallied late under Jacob Cardenas to finish second for owner and breeder Gerald Kaul and trainer Jess Matt. The daughter of Fiftyshadezofgrey out of the Southern Corona mare RS Afternoon Delite completed the 330 yards in :16.721 for a 97 speed index.

She now owns a record of one win, four seconds, and three thirds from 10 career starts with earnings of $35,245.

Stanley Dale closed from well back to finish third under David Alvarez Jr. for owners CG Racing LLC and Lost River Racing and trainer Jarrett Mills. Bred by CG Racing LLC, the gelding is by champion Jess Good Candy and out of the Apollitical Jess mare Dunk Two Politicians.

He stopped the clock in :16.776 while earning a 95 speed index. The 3-year-old now sports a record of two wins, three seconds, and two thirds from nine starts with earnings of $40,752. He was also third in the 2025 Hadley/Giles Futurity.

Flying N The Lights finished fourth, followed by Big California Lew, Tempting Times, and Ronnie Racer. B La Rooster, CGR Jag Wire, and Midnight D were scratched.
