JM Famous Wynn Dominates $75,000 Vista Distaff Stakes

ALBUQUERQUE, NM–JUNE 20, 2026–JM Famous Wynn continued her strong 2026 campaign on Saturday, rolling to a three-quarter-length victory in the $75,000 Vista Distaff Stakes at The Downs of Albuquerque.

The 350-yard stakes for New Mexico-bred fillies and mares was contested over a fast track. Under Luis Martinez, JM Famous Wynn broke well, rallied to the front, and drew clear late while stopping the timer in 17.117 seconds and earning a 101 speed index.

Owned by Carlos Soto Carrasco and trained by Tony Sedillo, the filly was bred by Ventura M Ranch LLC. She is sired by JM Specialwynn and out of the One Famous Eagle mare Famous Strawberry.

The winner's share of $43,500 increased her bankroll to $191,969 from 14 career starts. She now owns a record of 14-5-2-0 and entered the race off a victory in the Lou Wooten and Sydney Valentini Stakes (G2). Earlier this season she was also a finalist in the Jimmy Drake Stakes (G2), while last year she qualified for the New Mexico State Fair Futurity (G2).

Heart Breakn Blondie rallied from mid-pack to finish second under Jose Enriquez, getting up late for the runner-up position while earning a 97 speed index.

Owned by Olga Estela Macias de Alamos and trained by Armando Alamos, the filly was bred by Bobby Simmons. She is by Bodacious Dash and out of the One Famous Eagle mare Eagle In The Sky.

Heart Breakn Blondie now boasts a record of 17 starts with three wins, two seconds, and two thirds while earning $126,857. Her accomplishments include a third-place finish in last year's New Mexico Classic Filly and Mare Championship Stakes (G1).

Merrmaid finished third under Alfredo Sigala after enjoying a clean trip before faltering slightly in the final strides. The filly earned a 97 speed index in the effort.

Owned by Thomas Avitia and trained by Emily Cardenas, Merrmaid was bred by MJ Farms and sold for $60,000 at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. She is sired by Big Daddy Cartel and out of the stakes-winning Ocean Runaway mare Ms Riptide.

Merrmaid is a full sister to stakes winner Nineteen Crimes ($70,130) and a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Mister Riptide ($748,298). She now holds a record of 22 starts with three wins, six seconds, and one third while earning $129,261. Still seeking her first stakes victory, she has been a stakes finalist in both the Lou Wooten and Sydney Valentini Stakes (G2) and the Sunburst Stakes (G3).

Big Jessie finished fourth and was followed by Easily Bella CSJ, Big Daddy Farr, Flashn Milagro, Daddys Doll, Lovely Josie James, and Juliana.
