Dansing Queeen Tops Cherry Creek Futurity Qualifiers at Arapahoe Park

AURORA, CO–JUNE 19, 2026–Three trials were held Friday at Arapahoe Park to determine the qualifiers for the $97,000 Cherry Creek Futurity, a 350-yard race restricted to Colorado-bred 2-year-olds. The final is scheduled for July 5.

Fastest of the qualifiers was Dansing Queeen, who delivered a dominant performance in the third and final trial under jockey Alonso Rivera.

Breaking from post five, the filly quickly moved into contention before taking command and drawing away to a 2¼-length victory while earning a 105 speed index. Her winning time of :17.598 was the fastest of the afternoon.

A homebred owned and bred by Dr. Susan Raymond, DVM, Dansing Queeen is trained by James Gonzales II. The daughter of B Cause Im A Hero out of the Apollitical Jess mare Apollitical Senorita improved her record to one win and one second from two career starts while pushing her earnings past the $8,000 mark.

Tahitis French Kiss secured the second-fastest qualifying time after capturing the opening trial under Fernando Fonseca-Soto.

The Haley Hobbs trainee broke sharply and led throughout, holding off a late challenge to stop the timer in :17.899 for a 95 speed index.

A homebred for Francisco Cornejo, the daughter of champion Kiss My Hocks and the Wave Carver mare Tahiti Wave improved her record to 4-2-1-0 with earnings of $21,840.

The second trial went to Monday Dream N Paint, who posted the third-fastest qualifying mark of :17.937 while racing gate-to-wire under Cerapio Figueroa.

Despite being bumped at the start, the filly maintained a narrow advantage throughout and held off runner-up Ms Dash It by a half-length while earning a 94 speed index.

Owned and bred by Rivera Quarter Horse Racing, Inc. and trained by Alexander Orozco, Monday Dream N Paint is by Cyber Monday out of Jdbs Dream N Paint. The filly improved her record to 3-1-0-0 and increased her earnings to $3,823.

The $97,000 Cherry Creek Futurity final is scheduled for July 5 at Arapahoe Park.
