VINTON, LA–MAY 16, 2026– Delta Downs hosted the $151,650 Old South Futurity on Saturday night and the event was won by Ruse Ranch LLC’s Mucho Man Lady under jockey Manuel Gutierrez. It was the first stakes win for the Jose A. Garcia trainee.
The winning connections of Mucho Man Lady accept the $151,650 Old South Futurity trophy at Delta Downs on Saturday. © Hodges Photography Breaking from post position four in a field of 10 who qualified for the Old South Futurity, Mucho Man Lady burst from the starting gate and quickly took command in the 330-yard showdown. Gutierrez stayed busy aboard his mount as she cruised to a half-length win over fastest qualifier Be Myy Valentine. The King Marfa rounded out the trifecta in third, another half length behind the runner-up.
Mucho Man Lady covered the distance over a fast racetrack in a time of 16.806 seconds. That time earned the winner a speed index of 93.
Mucho Man Lady now has a record of two wins, one second and one third from four career starts. She earned $75,825 for her win in the Old South Futurity and now owns a bankroll of $111,126.
Bred in Texas by her owner, Mucho Man Lady is a 2-year-old bay filly by Kj Mucho Macho Man, out of the Cosmograph mare Cosmo Traffic.
Sent to the gate at odds of 8-5, Mucho Man Lady returned $5.20 to win, $3.60 to place and $2.80 to show. Be Myy Valentine was worth $5.80 to place and $4.20 to show. The King Marfa paid $4 to show.
Delta Downs will return to live racing again next Wednesday, May 20 with an eight-race program starting at 6:15pm. Next week’s highlights include the $302,000 Lassie Futurity (RG2) on Friday and the $297,000 Laddie Futurity (RG2) on Saturday.
