MEXICO CITY, MX–MAY 3, 2026–KC Royal Queen took full advantage of her trial experience and delivered a confident performance to win the $16,000 Mexico Futurity Consolation on Sunday at Hipodromo de las Americas.
The 2-year-old filly, who entered the final as the second-fastest qualifier from the April 11 trials, covered the 250 yards under jockey Paul Osvaldo Rodriguez in 13.22 seconds to secure the victory and earn $8,000.
KC Royal Queen quickly asserted herself and maintained control through the short dash to the wire. Trained by Luis Enrique Cruz Solis, the filly showed the same determination that made her a top qualifier and turned it into her second win from three starts.
Owned by Cuadra San Martin and bred by Abelardo Gallegos Fernandez, she has now compiled $11,000 in earnings. KC Royal Queen is a daughter of Krash Cartel is out of Quick Glass by Royal Quick Dash.
Baccarat Sr finished second, continuing a steady but still developing campaign. The filly stayed on well under Uriel Lopez for trainer Cesar Garcia Serrano, representing owner and breeder Rancho Santa Rosa Chiapas.
The daughter of Swingin Good Reason is out of One Slick Fire by Walk Thru Fire. Despite the runner-up effort, she remains in search of her first career victory after three starts.
DK Reason Baby was elevated to third following the disqualification of Guesswhoiam, earning a placing that reflected his improving form. The gelding was guided by Heriberto Camacho for trainer Antonio Garcia Carranza and races for owner Cuadra Alpuyeca,
Bred by Cuadra La Presita, DK Reason Baby is a son of Danny Cartel and out of Ms Darlin Reason SA by Good Reason SA. The effort gives him a 1-0-1 record from three outings.
