MILES CITY, MT–MAY 2, 2026– Nine trial heats contested Saturday at Miles City produced the finalists for the $65,000-est. Bucking Horse Sale Futurity, with two-year-olds dashing 250 yards over a fast track in pursuit of a berth in the May 17 final.
Headlining the qualifiers is Uncle D Weight, who delivered the fastest time of the night with an impressive :13.348 clocking and a 101 speed index while winning his trial convincingly. With this time, he set a new track record, surpassing the previous record of :13.354 which was set by Yo Barely A Glance in 2022.
Ridden by Valente Vorrath for owner Eduardo Gandara and trainer Jesse Villegas, the colt broke cleanly, sat just off the early pace, and surged to command to draw off by 1 3/4 lengths in a dominant debut performance.
Bred by H & E Ranch Inc., Uncle D Weight is a son of champion Uncle D and is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Fate Cant Weight, a stakes-placed runner.
He is a half-brother to stakes winners Coronados Fate ($129,514) and Giving Freely ($31,792), with the female family tracing back to champion Jess You And I ($1,851,691), giving the colt one of the deepest pedigrees in the field.
Second-fastest qualifier Cyber Eagle also turned in a standout effort, stopping the clock in :13.420 with a 97 speed index while rallying late to win her trial.
The filly, bred, owned, and trained by Jaime Martinez and ridden by Mauro Jesus Rodriguez, overcame a slightly awkward start before finishing strongest of all to prevail by a neck.
A daughter of graded stakes winner Cyber Monday, Cyber Eagle is out of the One Famous Eagle mare Eagles Camp, a winner on the track. Like the top qualifier, she was making her career debut and showed both composure and finishing power.
Third-fastest qualifier Cyber Jessie, another daughter of Cyber Monday, posted a sharp :13.461 clocking with a 95 speed index while winning her trial.
Ridden by Kody Kellenberger for owner Wilson Racing Stables and trainer Robert Dan Johnson, the filly overcame an awkward break but displayed strong early speed and determination late to narrowly hold on at the wire.
Bred by Cuadra JM LLC, Cyber Jessie is out of the stakes-placed Hes Relentless mare Relentless Jessie, with her second dam a half-sister to stakes winner Available Credit ($137,809), adding further depth to her pedigree.
