MEXICO CITY, MEX–APRIL 12, 2026–Trials for the first leg of the Mexican Triple Crown series, the $147,000 México Futurity-RG3, were contested over two days, April 11-12, at Hipódromo de las Américas. A strong group of juveniles competed for a spot in the lucrative 250-yard final set for May 3.

Topping the list was race favorite DK Chispada Two, who delivered the fastest qualifying effort of the weekend with a time of :13.124, clocking an 88 speed index. Breaking from the rail in the fourth trial of day one, the filly showed immediate speed, took control early, and drew off to win easily by 2 1/2 lengths.

Bred by Cuadra La Presita, the daughter of Bullish One is out of the Danny Cartel mare Chispita Two. Trainer Juan Jose Razo conditions DK Chispada Two, who was ridden by Angel Santillan for owner Cuadra Guillen.

Second fastest was DK Mirnalda, who stopped the clock in :13.128 in the sixth trial on day one. The filly finished strongly to take command and pull clear by 1 3/4 lengths, stamping herself as one of the leading contenders heading into the final.

Also bred by Cuadra La Presita, the daughter of Danny Cartel is out of the Fantastic Corona Jr mare WL Shez To Fantastic. DK Mirnalda is owned by Cuadra San Martin, trained by Luis Enrique Cruz Solis, and ridden by Nestor Duran—the same connections who campaigned the first ever Mexican Triple Crown winner Rey De Manny last season.

The third-fastest qualifier is RG Magic Heart, who started from the two-hole position and drifted inward toward the wire. Ridden by Mario Alberto Lopez Marmolejo, this juvenile gelding won his trial on day two by a daylight, clocking an 85 speed index in 13.208 seconds. Trainer Alfredo Rabanal Salinas saddled the son of Swingin Corona for owner Rancho Las Gaviotas. Bred by Criadero San Sebastian, RG Magic Heart is out of Visual Magic by Corona Cartel.

Fourth fastest qualifier was Good Old Titan Krash, who recorded a :13.212 time under jockey Carlos Gomez from day one, qualifying in the third trial. The gelding overcame a slight drift in the stretch but maintained his advantage to win by three-quarters of a length.

Bred by Horspital Farms, the son of Swingin Good Reason is out of Miss Niftys Krash by Krash Cartel. Alejandro Gutierrez Lopez trains Good Old Titan Krash for owner Cuadra La Diamantina.

The fifth fastest qualifier was Kc Lady Victoria, winner of the first trial on day two by 3/4-length over Kc Star Krash, who also qualified to the finals. Ridden by Paul Osvaldo Rodriguez and Carlos Gomez, respectively, both fillies were bred by Abelardo Gallegos.

Dk Paleta Dulce, ridden by Alejandro Gomez Lopez, won her trial heat on day one for owner Cuadra Alpuyeca, qualifying with the sixth fastest time. Kc Nocturno and Kc Flyin Jess, both of which were also bred by Abelardo Gallegos, performed well on the second day, securing their spots in the final.

Also of note, during the opening night, Kc Jess Krash, ridden by Nestor Duran, and LH El Muneco, with Juan Eloy Pineda in the saddle, both showcased their speed by winning the first and last trial heats, respectively, with each horse recording an identical time of 13.227 seconds.

In the first trial, Kc Jess Krash delivered a sharp performance, taking command early and drawing clear to win easily in :13.227. The filly, by Krash Cartel out of Jess Blazin Queen, races for Cuadra San Martin under trainer Luis Enrique Cruz Solis.

LH El Muneco dueled early and edged clear late to secure the victory by one length while drifting out slightly through the stretch. By Political Kash and out of the One Famous Eagle mare Sheza Famous Doll, he was bred by Jessica Delgado Laphond and is owned by Cuadra Alpuyeca.

A notable outcome from these two trial heats is the determination of the final qualifying positions. Both Kc Jess Krash and LH El Muneco posted identical times of 13.227 seconds, marking the fifth-fastest time on the first day. A coin toss in the upcoming weeks will decide which horse will move on to the México Futurity final, while the other will compete in the $16,000 México Futurity Consolation.

The top ten qualifiers will return on May 3 for what is shaping up as a competitive renewal of the $147,000 México Futurity, while the next-fastest runners return for the consolation event on the same card.
