SUNLAND PARK, NM–APRIL 4, 2026– Bridger surged late to win the $389,493 New Mexican Spring Futurity (RG2) on April 4 at Sunland Park, covering 300 yards in :15.255 seconds over a fast track.
Ridden by Luis Angel Flores Garcia, the gelding broke a step slow, advanced through mid-stretch, and finished strongly to get up in time for the win. The victory was worth $183,062.
Owned by Tungsten Racing Partnership and Rancho El 48 LLC and trained by Eric Valenzuela, Bridger was bred by MJ Farms. The gelding is a $155,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, sired by leading sire Eye Am King, and is out of the Blushing Bug mare Bridgette Bordeaux, a stakes placed runner.
He is a full brother to graded stakes winners Vintage Bordeaux ($372,959) and Broadbent ($171,396). With the win, Bridger remains undefeated in two starts and now has earnings of $189,602.
Runner-up Bogarts Brown Sugar made a strong bid, gaining the lead late before being caught at the wire, finishing second by a head. Ridden by Luis Martinez, the gelding is a homebred for La Feliz Montana Ranch LLC and is trained by Xavier Rodriguez.
A $15,000 repurchase from the Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Sale, he is sired by graded stakes sire Bogart and is out of the First Moonflash mare Javys Brown Sugar, a stakes placed runner. The second dam is stakes winner Required Fire ($71,235). He now has earnings of $76,649 from two starts.
Big Ted finished third after hopping at the start and closing late to secure the placing. Ridden by Jordy Muniz, the gelding races for Tungsten Racing Partnership and is trained by Eric Valenzuela.
Bred by Jaime Cervantes, he is sired by Grade 1 winner TF Im That Guy and is out of the Heza Motor Scooter mare Shez Jessa Scooter, a winner. He now has earnings of $49,384 from two starts.
Bigg Twist finished fourth, followed by Big Avery, Pepa Jet, Royal Dynasty Mrb, Super Patriot, Bernin Daylight, and Moonin The Moon.
