BOSSIER, LA–MARCH 27, 2026– RF Fast Dash N Blood, the fastest qualifier, extended his winning streak to ten with a victory in the $100,000 Mardi Gras Derby on March 27 at Louisiana Downs, covering 400 yards in :19.751 seconds.
Ridden by Jorge Garcia, the gelding overcame early contact, advanced late, and prevailed by a half-length over San Lorenzo Chicken, while Mucho Man Train B finished third. The winner posted a 103 speed index over a fast track.
A $80,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate, RF Fast Dash N Blood was bred by Rogers Farm/Tim and Jennie Rogers, is owned by Jaime Cardenas, and trained by Josue Ponce. He is sired by champion Apollitical Blood, whose progeny have earned more than $19 million, and is out of the Heza Fast Dash mare Fast Dash N Deb, a Grade 1 placed runner.

The gelding has now won ten consecutive races, including the LQHBA Louisiana Million Futurity (G1), LQHBA Sale Futurity (G1), Lee Berwick Memorial Louisiana Bred Futurity (G1), and the Louisiana Bred Laddie Futurity (G2). He was named 2025 LQHBA Champion 2-Year-Old Gelding.
Runner-up San Lorenzo Chicken finished gamely after stopping the clock in :19.818 seconds. The gelding is owned by Rogelio Marquez Jr., trained by Juan Garcia, and was ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez.
Bred by Tate Farms, he is sired by champion One Sweet Jess, whose progeny have earned more than $19.4 million, and is out of the Toast To Dash mare A Special Toast, a stakes placed runner. He now holds a record of 9-3-2-1 with earnings of $64,895 and was a finalist in last year’s LQHBA Louisiana Million Futurity (G1).
Mucho Man Train B rallied late to finish third, stopping the clock in :19.891 seconds. The colt is owned by J.J. Racing, trained by Ismael Solis-Guevara, and was ridden by Jose Rodriguez.
Bred by Ruse Ranch LLC, he is a $35,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate. The colt is sired by second-crop sire KJ Mucho Macho Man and is out of the Freighttrain B mare Rio Rojo Train B. He now holds a record of 9-0-4-4 with earnings of $61,181, including a third-place finish in the Louisiana Juvenile and a finalist effort in the LQHBA Louisiana Million Futurity (G1).
Jessapilottrain finished fourth, followed by Last Eagle V, Izitalexander, Jess Transcendent, LRH Henry T, Rogue Candy, and Tuxedo Black Tie.
