The decisive race for the title took place the very next day, Sunday (22). Hilary Reason DRB delivered a flawless performance, taking the lead early in the run and maintaining it all the way to the wire, winning one of the greatest races ever held for the new Quarter Horse generation in Brazil’s Northeast.

The winning filly stopped the clock in 17.446 seconds, establishing a new race record. The talented jockey J. Almeida, only 17 years old, guided Hilary Reason DRB to victory.

In the trial, he was able to save her significantly while in front; in the final, another excellent ride, this time asking the Stud Fé-owned runner for her best.

“The filly stood out very early in our barn, from her first works on the track. She was not 100% in her debut at the GP Haras Iguatu, where she surprised us with the second-fastest trial time. We had only a few days to prepare her for this new commitment, but she showed she is a machine,” said Robert Marques, one of the filly’s co-owners.
