HOBBS, NM–DECEMBER 14, 2025– Jo Nita Foose Around delivered a strong late rally Sunday afternoon at Zia Park, getting up in the final strides to capture the $100,000 Southwest Juvenile Invitational Stakes (G2) for 2-year-olds.
Ridden by Noe Garcia, Jr., Jo Nita Foose Around tracked the early pace before surging past rivals late to score by a neck. The sorrel gelding completed the 400 yards in 19.136 seconds, earning a 99 speed index over a fast track. The race was contested under cloudy skies with calm conditions.
Trained by Tammy Johnson for owner Rockin J Running Horses, Jo Nita Foose Around is by Champion Foose and out of Solid Anita Jo, a stakes-winning mare by Rock Solid Jess. Bred in Texas by Rockin J Running Horses, the gelding earned the $56,400 winner’s share, boosting his lifetime earnings to $122,757 and improving his career record to 8-4-0-1. He entered the race off a victory in the Albuquerque Juvenile in October.

Ridden by Ricky Ramirez, the filly is by six-time all-time leading sire of money earners Apollitical Jess and out of Adolph Tres Knockout, an undefeated Oklahoma Futurity (G3) winner by Tres Seis. Trained by Luis Villafranco for owner Mi Serenity, Ruse Ticle Knockout holds a career record of 8-4-1-2 with earnings of $120,456. She was a $210,000 graduate of the TQHA Yearling Sale and was coming off a third-place finish in the Black Gold Fillies Futurity (G3).
Coming in third was T Bar Fabulous Eagle, who closed steadily to finish third under Christian Cardenas. The gelding is by One Fabulous Eagle, the leading third-crop sire of 2022, and out of Separate Boots, an unraced mare by Seperate Interest. Trained by Joaquin Lopez for J. and J. Racing Stable, T Bar Fabulous Eagle now holds a career record of 8-2-2-3 with earnings of $63,260 and was a finalist earlier this year in the Laico Bird Stakes (G3).
Wynston, Traxion, Unleeshed, Mr High Five, Relentless Knockout, The Diesel Train, and Angels In The Clouds completed the field.
