MEXICO CITY, MEXICO–NOVEMBER 30, 2025–Thirty-three juveniles lined up across four trials on Sunday, all chasing one of ten coveted spots in the $150,000 Mexican Breeders Futurity. Kc Shes Cartel delivered the day’s strongest performance, winning the opening trial and posting the fastest 400-yard qualifying time for the December 21 finale.

After breaking last from the gates, Kc Shes Cartel immediately regrouped under Arturo Vega Moreno, surging past rivals and drawing clear by two full lengths over Kc Coco Cristal. She stopped the timer in 19.846 seconds, good for an 86 speed index, to firmly secure the fastest-qualifier honors.

Kc Shes Cartel has now lit the board in six of nine starts with four wins and two seconds, pushing her bankroll to $28,000. She was also a finalist earlier this year in both the Subasta Selecta Futurity and the Mexico Futurity.

Angel G. Magdaleno trains the Kc Shes Cartel for owner Cuadra Las Vegas. Bred by Abelardo Gallegos, the filly by Krash Cartel, is out of Shes Tough Enough P, a daughter of Apollitical Jess.

Second fastest qualifier El Ilusionista Sr, also broke slowly but hit his best stride late, overtaking Br Chago in the final yards to win the last trial by three-quarters of a length. He matched the top qualifier with an 86 speed index, crossing the wire in 19.867 seconds.

The 2-year-old gelding by Swingin Good Reason, is out of Muscles Diablo, a daughter of Valiant Hero. He is owned by Cuadra San Martin and bred by Rancho Santa Rosa Chiapas. Luis Enrique Cruz trains the gelding, and Nestor Duran handled the mount.

El Ilusionista Sr has now won five of seven starts and earned $24,000, highlighted by his victory in the Mexico Breeders Futurity Distaff in October. He also finished second in the Futurity Garanones Consolation earlier this season.

The early morning-line favorite, DK Misty Cartel took care of business in Trial 2, prevailing by a half-length while posting an 84 speed index in 19.942 seconds for the third fastest qualifying time. Jockey Nestor Duran was also aboard the daughter of Danny Cartel, as one of four horses he qualified to the finals.

Dk Misty Cartel has been as reliable as they come, hitting the board in all seven of her starts with a 3-3-1 record and $97,500 earned. Her résumé includes runner-up finishes in both the Mexico Breeders Futurity Distaff and the Mexico Futurity, along with a third-place effort in the Subasta Selecta Futurity—cementing her status as one of Mexico’s top juvenile fillies.
