GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–NOVEMBER 15–Karmalites showed once again that she thrives when the pressure is highest. The three-year-old filly delivered her second major stakes victory of the season with a gritty neck win in the $247,588 Purina Feeds Texas Classic Oaks on Saturday at Lone Star Park.
Ridden by Luis Martinez, Karmalites covered the 400 yards in 19.445 seconds while posting a 101 speed index. The victory returned $11.20 at 9-2 odds and added $110,177 to her bankroll.
Karmalites, a $12,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale purchase, is by The Marfa Lights. She is out of Cartel Karma, by Corona Cartel, and was bred in Oklahoma by Paris Wixon.

Fabian Porras owns the sorrel filly, who is conditioned by Jorge Sanchez Jr. From 18 starts, she has compiled eight wins, two seconds and five thirds with earnings of $686,089.
Coming off a third-place finish in the trials, Karmalites could not have timed her run any better, inching past Js Freightrain in the final strides. She already captured the All American Oaks-G1 earlier in the season and also hit the board in the West Texas Derby-G3.
As a juvenile, sh won the Ruidoso Downs Juvenile Challenge-G3 and Four Corners Futurity, along with a third-place finish in the La Fiesta Futurity-G3.
Runner-up Js Freightrain, beaten by a neck, earned $54,469 for her effort. The daughter of Freighttrain B is out of As and Js, by Apollitical Jess, and was bred in Oklahoma by Leonardo Alcala.
Owned by Samuel Mendoza and trained by Heber Deyta-Melendez, Js Freightrain was ridden by Juan Pulido. The bay filly now sports a record of five wins, two seconds and one third from 11 starts, and she was also a finalist in this year’s Heritage Place Oaks-G2.
Bold N Beautiful finished one length behind the runner-up to take third and collected $27,235. The filly, also by Freighttrain B, is out of Always Dreaming, by Run Away and Hide (TB), and was bred in Kentucky by Gentry Farms.
Trainer John Stinebaugh saddled the filly for owner Gentry Farms (Robert Kirk Gentry/Robbi Force). Ridden by Gilberto Linares, she has made 15 starts with three wins, four seconds and three thirds.
Bold N Beautiful was a finalist in the All American Oaks-G1, Los Alamitos Oaks-G1, and Heritage Place Oaks, and tonight’s third place finish marked her first black type score.
The remaining order of finish was HiRed Iron, Razor Sharp, Jessesflyincowgirl, Eyesa Wagon My Tale, Rainbow Of Diamonds and Edelyns Pyc.
