GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 14, 2025—Doubled-registered Vp Dash For Texas proved strongest late to capture the $30,000 Ochoa Stakes on Friday night at Lone Star Park, taking the 350-yard dash for Accredited Texas-bred 2-year-olds in 17.501 seconds with a 98 speed index.
Running over a fast track while facing a light 2 mph headwind, the bay gelding surged forward after being bumped at the break, edging clear to earn the winner’s share of $18,300.
Bred by Victor Md. Villarreal, the son of Pyc Prize Time out of Gw Money Dash, by Dr Beduino, is owned by Victor R. Villarreal, trained by Zackery Rios, and was ridden by Nestor Duran.
Third in the John Deere Sam Houston Juvenile(G3) earlier this year, Vp Dash For Texas has won two of four starts against Quarter Horse company and earned $37,508. He has also won two of four starts against Mixed company, including the $61,590 Colors of the Alamo Paint and Appaloosa Futurity at Retama Park following a disqualification. He has earned $28,595 in mixed company.

The Chilitos filly, out of Fance Snow by This Snow Is Royal, was bred by Alejandro Moya and races for Trinidad Jasso III.
She is trained by Ignacio Bustamante and was ridden by Oliver Martinez. A $10,500 purchase from the 2024 TQHA Yearling Sale, she collected $5,100 for her runner-up effort.
Real Quick Flirt finished another nose back in third after breaking outward and then recovering to stay on well late. The gray colt by Real Cartel, out of Miss Shake N Zoom by Royal Shake Em, was bred and is owned by Omar Vela, trained by Raul Galvan, and ridden by Angel Fierro. His third-place finish was worth $3,000, boosting his earning to $22,911 from five starts.
Vp Dash For Texas returned $8.00 to win, $5.40 to place, and $2.80 to show. Political Assasin paid $12.00 to place and $4.00 to show, while Real Quick Flirt returned $3.40 to show. The $1 exacta of 4-6 paid $61.40, the 50-cent trifecta of 4-6-3 returned $153.50, and the 10-cent superfecta of 4-6-3-2 paid $71.59.
The remaining order of finish was Run On Monday, Sinnin Hot Pepper, Fdd El Jefe, and Mr Chato Perez.
