GRANTS PASS, OR–OCTOBER 13, 2025–Ccr Political Wrap extended her unbeaten 2025 campaign with another authoritative performance, capturing the $50,000 Autumn Derby on a muddy track Monday afternoon at Grants Pass Downs.

The daughter of Apollitical Jess stopped the clock in 19.645 seconds for 400 yards, earning a 101 speed index and a $20,000 winner’s share for owner/breeder Cedar Creek Tree Farm Ranch and Racing.

After breaking inward and bumping at the start, jockey Mark Jasso quickly gathered Ccr Political Wrap, driving her to the lead by the first call and never looked back. Favored to win after clocking the fastest qualifying time from the trials, the sorrel filly's winning effort paid $3.00 on a $2.00 wager.

She crossed the wire 11/2 lengths ahead of Tonny Montana, securing her fifth consecutive win this season for trainer Hector Magallanes. The Oregon-bred filly is out of the Walk Thru Fire mare Wrap You Up.

Ccr Political Wrap has now earned $57,393 from 14 career starts with six consecutive wins and seven total victories, including her first career stakes score in the Autumn Derby. She previously placed third in the Far West Futurity and was a finalist in the Emerald Downs Juvenile Challenge last year.

Runner-up Tonny Montana, a gray colt by Whata Corona, delivered a solid late rally under jockey Salvador Ibarra to secure second for owner Hector Aguilera and trainer Sergio Leon.

Bred in Nevada by Juan Martinez, Tonny Montana is out of Quick And Jazzy by Bono Jazz. He earned his first black type score with this finish, bringing his earnings to $18,150 from ten starts.

Finishing third was Mr Royal Cartel, a sorrel gelding by The Cartel Hawk, who dueled early before settling for third under jockey Jake Samuels. Owned and bred in Oregon by Ismael Villarreal, the gelding is out of Miss Royal Rumble by Royal Shake Em and also trained by Hector Magallanes.

Mr Royal Cartel has banked $58,948 in 12 starts and last year won the Far West Futurity and placed second in the Emerald Downs Juvenile Challenge over Ccr Political Wrap.

The order of finish was completed by Mr Steve Berry, Bee A Tempting Queen, Mighty Panama T, Soy Catalina, Tf One Dashn Lajolla, Riding the Wind, and Secretarysbestcard.
