CLAREMORE, OK–OCTOBER 12, 2025–There was little doubt who owned the spotlight Sunday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs, as As Moonflash once again proved she’s in a league of her own.
As Moonflash delivered another polished performance to capture the $32,500 Miss Ellen Stakes for fillies and mares, extending her unbeaten streak this year to three races in stakes competition.
Breaking a step slow but recovering instantly, As Moonflash surged into contention midway and drew clear late under Juan Pulido, crossing the wire 1 1/2 lengths ahead in 17.800 seconds with an 87 speed index. The victory was worth $19,170 to owner Marisol Alvarado.

Trained and bred in Oklahoma by Leonardo Alcala, As Moonflash is by First Moonflash and out of As and Js by Apollitical Jess. The four-year-old filly remains undefeated in three starts for 2025, having also won the Retama Championship Challenge-G3 and Selma Stakes earlier this season. From nine career starts, she has now compiled six wins and $131,699 in earnings.
Runner-up Corona Relentless, a gray mare by Hes Relentless, turned in a determined effort under Roman Cruz for trainer Marla Vargas and owner Roberto Zuniga-Rios. She clocked 18.005 seconds, earning an 81 speed index while battling gamely between foes.
The Louisiana-bred mare is out of Coronas Concierge by Corona Cartel. Bred by Eddie Cramer and Tom and Bill Maher, she sold for $6,500 at the 2019 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Corona Relentless has compiled 42 starts with 15 wins, 14 seconds, and 2 thirds, earning $234,682. She has also won the Rocky Heinzig Stakes four consecutive years, including this season’s renewal.
Just A Flyin Cowgirl finished third after a hard-fought drive to the wire. The daughter of Flying Cowboy 123 stopped the clock in 18.015 seconds under Edwin Escobedo for trainer Joe Davis and owner McGehee Horse and Cattle LLC.
The Texas-bred filly out of Just Another Natural by Furyofthewind was bred by T.C. Flack. Earlier this season, Just A Flyin Cowgirl won the Raysha’s Run–Racing For A Cure Stakes and finished second in both the Sweetwater Downs and Energy Downs Maturities.
Shy Kisser, Lipstick Lou, Relentless Diamond, Like That Corona, Nay Borhood Nipsey, Jess A Frenchy Girl, and Miss Kt Perry completed the order of finish.
