ALTOONA, IA—SEPTEMBER 22, 2025—Relentlessly Fast exploded out of the gates and clung on late to capture the $30,000 Prairie Dash Stakes in a gate-to-wire win at Prairie Meadows on Monday afternoon.
The 4-year-old gelding held off a furious charge from Ls Jacks Back by a nose, stopping the clock in 15.760 seconds for 300 yards with an 83 speed index. The victory was worth $16,200 to owner Tom Maher.
Bred in Oklahoma by Stuart and Strebig, Relentlessly Fast is a son of Hes Relentless. He is out of the Heza Fast Dash mare Logans Fast Dasher. The $50,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate was ridden by Angel Ramirez for trainer Tyler Stein.

Monday’s win marked his first stakes victory of the year and pushed his lifetime bankroll to $134,717. Relentlessly Fast has hit the board in 11 of 20 career starts, with earlier black-type success including wins in the Northlands Futurity and MQHRA Stallion Auction Futurity during his freshman campaign, as well as a runner-up finish in last year’s Canterbury Park Derby.
Runner-up Ls Jacks Back, a 6-year-old gelding by Corona Cartel, closed strongly under Alfredo Triana Jr. but just missed at the wire in 15.762 seconds, also earning an 83 speed index.
He is out of the Desirio mare Pj Chick in Black and was bred in Oklahoma by D. Bowen, S. Taylor, and J. Smith Farms. LS Racing, Inc. owns the veteran runner, who is trained by John Stinebaugh.
From 39 career starts, Ls Jacks Back has compiled a record of 8 wins, 10 seconds, and 4 thirds with earnings of $328,522. He has competed in 14 different stakes races, highlighted by a Grade 2 victory in the Bob Moore Memorial Stakes in 2024. Earlier this year, he finished second in the Mr Jet Moore Stakes-G2 and was also a finalist in the Mighty Deck Three Stakes-G2 and the Keokuk Stakes-G3.
Third-place finisher Windsome, a 4-year-old filly by Hes Relentless, was edging closer late under Cristian Esqueda but settled for third in 15.780 seconds. She is out of the Furyofthewind mare Agoodnightkiss and was bred in Oklahoma by Gene Schindler.
Stacy Charette-Hill conditions the filly for owners Charette-Hill and Gene Schindler. Windsome earned her first black type placing with the effort, adding to a record of 16 starts and nearly $60,000 in earnings.
