BLACKFOOT, ID—SEPTEMBER 6, 2025—RTM Stables LLC and Bryon Goody’s multiple stakes winner The Prize Ferarri delivered a commanding gate-to-wire performance to secure victory in the $6,000 AB What A Runner Overnight Stakes (not black type) at the Eastern Idaho State Fair on Saturday afternoon.
Covering the 400 yards in 19.600 on a fast track with a 7-mph crosswind, the 7-year-old brown gelding posted an impressive 93 speed index while fending off a late surge from London Lc to win by a neck. The win earned the winner’s connections $3,300 from the guaranteed purse, boosting his earnings to $205,343.
The Prize Ferarri, a son of The Louisiana Cartel out of Ferarri Fast Prize, by Mr Jess Perry, was bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley. Trained by Mark Hanson and piloted confidently by jockey Dakota Wood, the gelding showed his class throughout, breaking sharply from the gate and never relinquishing the lead.
Offered at the 2024 Heritage Place Mixed Sale, he was a $30,000 RNA. The winner of four of seven starts this season, winning the Governor's QH Stakes at White Pine last month. He has won 23 of 39 career starts.
Finishing second was London Lc, a 3-year-old sorrel filly by Jess Got Easier out of Paris in April-TB, by Salt Lake-TB. Bred in Idaho by Larry Chapple and owned by her breeder, London Lc is conditioned by Kyle Dahlke and was ridden by Jayden Ironeyes. After a clean break, London Lc dueled stride-for-stride with the winner before being edged out in the final yards, settling for runner-up honors and $1,500 in earnings.
Third place went to Special Buddy Bc, a 3-year-old brown gelding by Flay out of Whata Doll Bc, by Tac It Bac. Bred and owned by Ben L. McKinney of Utah, the gelding is trained by Wes Kellett and was ridden by Jose Figueroa. Special Buddy Bc broke sharply and dueled early but couldn’t sustain the pressure in the stretch, crossing the wire a solid third to pick up $900.
Among the also-rans, Snobird finished fourth, earning $300 for owners Martin Vega and Pedro Vega after a steady effort. Te Runnin Royal Kid finished fifth, while La Punsada, Famous Prizes, and Vigilanz rounded out the order of finish.
Pari-mutuel payoffs returned $2.80 to win, $3.60 to place, and $2.10 to show on The Prize Ferarri. London Lc paid $4.00 to place and $2.10 to show, while Special Buddy Bc returned $2.10 to show.
