FARGO, ND—JULY 13, 2025—Lil Rider showed a burst of speed and determination to capture the $10,500 North Dakota Horse Park Streakin Zoomer Classic Stakes (not black type) on Sunday at the North Dakota Horse Park.
The 4-year-old chestnut filly by Pyc Fun N Fancy out of Park Avenue Air, by Dashair, broke alertly and never looked back, covering the 350 yards in 17.835 seconds over a fast track with a 10 mph crosswind, earning a 99 speed index.
Bred and owned by Ronald W. Addicott, who also trains her, Lil Rider was expertly guided by jockey Ricardo Martinez and earned $5,250 for the dominant 1½-length victory.
Lil Rider entered the race off a win in the $12,100 Chippewa Downs Open Quarter Horse Derby in her last start, June 16. The winner of six of 15 career starts she has banked $51,710.
Runner-up honors went to Kgs Wish, a 5-year-old brown mare by Daimon’s Tale-(TB) out of Treasured Penny, by Special Eliminator. Bred by Kenneth D. Groce and owned by Betty Charbonneau, Kgs Wish is trained by Jeff Charbonneau and was ridden by Dakota Wood.
She closed strongly but could but was no match for the winner, finishing second, adding $2,625 to her earnings. Winner of the Mixed Breed 550 Stakes at Chippewa Downs on June 15, Kgs Wishhas earned $37,093 off eight wins in 22 starts.
Finishing third was Ac Giddyupgo, a 3-year-old gray gelding by Six Figure Sixes out of Dolla Daze, by Chicks Regard. The gelding was bred by Michael Groce and is owned by Mark Allery and John Bercier, trained by Mark Allery and ridden by Connie McKenzie.
Ac Giddyupgo found himself in tight quarters but edged out his foes to earn $1,260 for the show spot, crossing the wire a neck behind the runner-up.
The final time of 17.835 seconds was just shy of the track record, with clear skies and a temperature of 84 degrees providing perfect conditions for the day’s stakes feature.
Lil Rider paid $6.20 to win, $4.60 to place, and $4.60 to show. Kgs Wish returned $3.40 to place and $3.00 to show, while Ac Giddyupgo paid $3.60 to show.
Also rans in the Streakin Zoomer Classic were Bodacious Trickster in fourth, Shes Wheelie Smokin fifth, Andres Jode sixth, and Whipperwilltripp seventh.
