VINTON, LA–JULY 12, 2025–Rf Fast Dash N Blood delivered a narrow but gutsy performance to win the restricted Grade 1 Lee Berwick Futurity at Delta Downs, capturing the $597,622 event for accredited Louisiana-bred two-year-olds at 350 yards.

With zero wind and a fast track, the bay gelding stopped the timer in 17.527 seconds, earning a 97 speed index.

Bred in Louisiana by Rogers Farm/Tim/Jennie Rogers, the son of champion sire Apollitical Blood out of Fast Dash N Deb by Heza Fast Dash was guided to his second stakes victory by jockey Jorge Garcia for trainer Miguel Castillo and owner Jaime Cardenas.

"I spotted him at the Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association Sale, and I loved his bloodlines," said Cardenas. "When you buy a horse like this, you dream about winning a big futurity, and my dreams have now come true".

The $80,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate held off a late charge to secure the neck victory and collect the winner’s share of $304,607.

" It’s all about the bloodlines. The mare is 60% of the success," breeder Tim Rogers says. "Jaime has brought the last two of her yearlings, and we could not be happier for him. Jennie and I bred him and took care of him as a yearling. We keep some, but like to bring them to the sale. I was happy for Jaime tonight as I had bred another champion."

Winner of the Laddie Futurity(RG2) in May and a finalist in the Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) in March, Rf Fast Dash N Blood has won four of six starts and earned $476,401.  He's paid into the LQHBA Sale Futurity(RG1), but his connections said they may rest him until the LQHBA Louisiana Millions(RG1) this fall.

Runner-up honors went to Luziana Man, a gelding by Dominyun out of Jewels Fortune by First Down Jewel, bred by Jerry West. The bay gelding was also second to Rf Fast Dash N Blood in the Laddie Futurity(RG2) in February.

Trained by Jose Espinosa for owners Rosalio Espinosa and Jerry Deville Jr., Luziana Man closed well under Noe Castaneda to finish a neck behind, earning $103,627. He was a $13,500 purchase from the 2024 LQHBA Sale and now earned $165,539.

Completing the trifecta was Fantsy Man Train, a sorrel colt by world champion sire Freighttrain B out of Fantsy Pants by Splash Bac, bred by Grant Farms LLC and racing for Party Tyme Racing.

With Leonardo Rodriguez in the irons and Jose Espinosa training, the $80,000 sale graduate claimed third money of $60,957, finishing 1¼ lengths behind the top pair.

The remaining order of finish was: Zactex Blood (4th), One Sweet Texan (5th), Shes Jess Sixy (6th), Lm Ms Apollitical (7th), and Puro Venenoo (8th). Scratched were Ivory Heart Z and San Lorenzo Bossman.

In the pari-mutuel pools, Rf Fast Dash N Blood returned $3.40 to win, $2.10 to place, and $2.10 to show. Luziana Man paid $2.40 to place and $2.20 to show, while Fantsy Man Train returned $4.40 to show.
