ALTOONA, IA–JULY 5, 2025–Fastest qualifier from the trials, Chew Bac Cah scored her third consecutive win in the $94,935 Hawkeye Futurity on Saturday at Prairie Meadows, marking her first career stakes victory.
Piloted by Ramiro Garcia, Chew Bac Cah exploded from the gates and led the field wire-to-wire, finishing first in 16.939 seconds for 330 yards, earning a speed index of 87. The Iowa-bred daughter of Apollitical Jess held a three-quarter length margin over runner-up Corona Streakin Jess.

A homebred for Lunderborg LLC, Chew Bac Cah is out of Paint Or More, by PYC Paint Your Wagon, and was trained by Jason Olmstead. Her share of the purse was $42,721, pushing her earnings to $62,709.
Corona Streakin Jess, a brown gelding by Corona Cartel, made a late charge from sixth at the stretch under Ali Rivera to secure second place. The two-year-old is out of Streakin Jesszee, by Mr Jess Perry, and was bred in Iowa by Jeff State.
Owned by RDS Legacy Racing LLC and trained by John Stinebaugh, Corona Streakin Jess added $17,088 to his bankroll, now totaling $20,985. He was previously a finalist in the Oklahoma Juvenile Stakes at Remington Park.
Painted Tres Sign, a bay gelding by Tres Seis, ran another solid race to finish third under Francisco Ramirez, Jr. for trainer Tony Jones. Owned by Richard and Curt Tobin, the Iowa-bred is out of Third Painted Sign, by PYC Paint Your Wagon, and was bred by Darling Farms.
Painted Tres Sign was purchased for $38,000 at the 2024 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale and has now placed third in both of his starts. He earned $9,493 from the Futurity to bring his lifetime earnings to $11,272.
The remaining order of finish is Apollitical Eyes, Southern Seis, Seis Shot Gun, Cr Countdown Time, Cartels Royal Lady, Shotgun Cowboy, and Shesa Tempting Eagle.
