VINTON, LA—MAY 31, 2025—C The Power broke sharply and held off late challengers to capture the $30,000 Delta Dash Stakes at Delta Downs on Friday night, completing the 250-yard dash in 12.999 seconds over a fast track.

The 4-year-old gray gelding by multipole stakes sire Power Jam (TB), out of High Plains Prize by First Down Dash, earned the winner’s share of $18,000 for owner and trainer Juan Montoya. Bred in Louisiana by Ken O’Brien, C the Power was ridden to victory by jockey Noe Castaneda.

C The Power got his first stakes win after finishing second in the Titanium Stakes(RG3) and third in BOCO Overnight Stakes in his previous to outings. The four time winner has banked $81,4232.

Second went to India de La Nieve, a 4-year-old graded stakes-placed daughter of Bp Wagon Train, who closed gamely to finish a neck behind the winner. Bred by Jose G. Vera and Claudia Sanchez, India de La Nieve races for owner Rene Rodriguez and is trained by Francisco Bernal. Humberto Vital rode the filly, who earned $6,000 for the runner-up effort, boosting her earnings to $128,017.

Venus Tlc, a daughter of champion sire The Louisiana Cartel, completed the trifecta, finishing a half-length behind the runner-up. Bred by Jorge Haddad and Jorge Haddad Mestre, Venus Tlc is owned by Jorge Haddad and trained by Jose Espinosa. David Alvarez had the riding call. She earned $3,300 for third. The multiple stakes-placed filly has earned $76,687.

Caliente Operator was fourth. The remaining order of finish will be posted when it becomes available on Equibase.

Delta Downs will race live again on Wednesday as the track cards an eight-race program. The action starts with a first post time of 6:15 pm (CDT).
