FARMINGTON, NM–MAY 24, 2025–Bv Mexican Foose delivered a stunning upset in Saturday’s $170,881 Grade 3 Four Corners Futurity at Sunray Park.
Dismissed on 42-1 odds, the two-year-old gelding surged to the lead from the break and held off late pressure from Good Grief to win by a neck.Piloted by jockey Vera Gerardo, Bv Mexican Foose recorded a 94 speed index with a final time of 17.357 seconds over 350 yards, aided by a 10 mph tailwind. The longshot returned $87.60 on a $2 win ticket.

Bred and owned in Oklahoma by Bella Valenzuela, the son of Foose is out of the Walk Thru Fire mare, Mexican Queen.
Trained by Marco Flores, Bv Mexico Foose broke his maiden in the trials and remains undefeated in two starts with $83,314 in earnings.
Good Grief rallied late under Mauro Salcedo but came up just short for second. The Oklahoma-bred son of The Marfa Lights remains a maiden after two starts with earnings of $31,759.
David Gomez-Barraza trains Good Grief for owners Luis Preciado and Jose Montes. Mr. and Mrs. Judd Morse bred him out of the Strawfly Special mare Good As I Was.
Following the disqualification of trial standout Swift D Swyft for interference, Ring A Ling Ding was elevated to third place. Ridden by Alfredo Sigala, the son of Pa Cha Ching, has now hit the board in four of five starts, including three wins, and has earned $42,022. Last month, he was a finalist in the Grade 2 West Texas Futurity at Sunland Park.
Trainer Tony Sedillo conditions Ring A Ling Ding for owners Kenneth, Cherie, and Cade Wallin. He was bred in New Mexico by R Armor and S F/Helen Henderson, out of the Kiss My Hocks mare Kiss On The Horizon.
The remaining order of finish included Cowboy Corona 123, Use Of Force, Powerful Knockout, Royal Belleza D, Rc Asticos Kitten, Jac Knife, and Swift D Swyft.
