MEXICO CITY, MEX–APRIL 27, 2025–Morning-line favorite Princesa Bury keeps the win streak alive with her eighth consecutive victory on Sunday with the fastest qualifying time in trial two of three to the $60,000 Derby Garanones at the Hipodromo de las Americas.

Trainer Rene Gomez saddled Princesa Bury for owner Cuadra Guillen. Jockey Alejandro Gomez piloted the daughter of leading sire Danny Cartel to victory in :17.480 seconds, clocking an 86 speed index. She defeated Fredas Wagon by an impressive 1 3/4 lengths, and the 350-yard gate-to-wire finish paid $1.40 to win.

The trial payday added another $2,214 to her bankroll for lifetime earnings of over $166,000. Princesa Bury has lit the board ten of 11 starts with nine wins, including the Mexico Derby this year and the Mexico Breeders’ Futurity Challenge and Mexican Bred Futurity during her freshman campaign.

Bred by Armando Leon, Princesa Bury was recognized as the Mexican Champion Two-Year-Old Filly in 2024 at the Hipodromo de las Americas. The $29,132 Mexico Select Yearling Sale graduate is out of Princesa Bury Buu by One Dashing Eagle.

Cc First Dance won trial three under the guidance of jockey H. Gomez. Marlon Quezada trains the daughter of the First Dinastia for owner Rancho Las Gaviotas, who also qualified Cc Regal Jack for the finals.

Carlos Espinosa bred Cc First Dance out of the Corona Cartel mare, Dance With Jessie. She has a record of 6-2-0 from ten starts with over $37,000 in the bank. She was a finalist in this year’s Mexico Derby and last year’s Subasta Selecta Futurity [RG2].
