OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 19, 2025—Ima Fancy Eye Opener returned to the stakes win column for the second time in three starts this season when he defeated Curls Magic Wagon in the $75,000 Mr Master Bug Stakes at Remington Park Saturday night.
Starting off a second-place effort in the Mr Jet Moore Stakes(G2) in his last start, April 19, Ima Fancy Eye Opener and jockey Bryan Candanosa raced over the 330 yards in 16.413 seconds. Trainer-breeder Rhonda Valdivia saddled the Im A Fancy Pyc gelding to his eighth career win in 11 starts for owners Shania Cox and Terry Dale Cox.
The multiple stakes-winning 3-year-old, from the Mr Eye Opener mare Lil Miss Eye Opener, picked up $42,000 to increase his bankroll to $248,644. He won the Mighty Deck Three Stakes(G2) on opening weekend at Remington Park.
Making his first appearance since finishing second in the Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity last December, Curls Magic Wagon earned $14,000 for finishing second. Trainer John Stinebaugh tapped jockey Ali Rivera to ride the son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon for owner-breeder Martin Stacy. Out of the Spit Curl Jess mare Eye A Spit Curl Girl, Curls Magin Wagon has banked $223,539 in eight starts.
A head back in the blanket finish, Lews Muddybuddy earned $7,700 for third. Trainer Juvenal Licona-Vazquez saddled the son of Grade 1 winner Big Lew for owner-breeder Gene and Margaret Mudd. Out of the Mudd D Dash, Pure D Dash, Lews Muddybuddy has earned $69,183.
Luie The First, Iteas Jessy, Okie Power, Anna Belle, Relentless Purrsuit, My Fancy Corona, and Cedar Hill completed the field.
