OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 19, 2025—Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity(RG1) winner Heavens Uncle raced to his second win in as many starts this season when he defeated AB Boogie as he post-time favorite in the $58,000 Grade 2 Bob Moore Memorial Stakes at Remington Park Saturday.
Ridden by jockey Bryan Candanosa, Heavens Uncle completed the 300 yards in 15.049 seconds over a sloppy (sealed) racetrack, equaling a 106 speed index. It was the fifth career in nine starts for the son of leading second-crop sire Uncle D.
Guillermo Valdivia trains the Oklahoma-bred gelding for owner-breeder Sherry Gilmore. Bred from the Streak And Dash mare Heavens Assured, the chestnut 3-year-old faced older horses for the first time in his career. The $33,600 Bob Moore winners' purse boosted his earnings to $496,619.
Runner-up Ab Boogie earned $9,600 under jockey Jesus Ayala for owner-breeder Ruben Mojica, Manuel Campos trains the Iowa-bred son of champion sire Apollitical Blood from the Lil Kool Wagon mare Boogie Wagon. The five-time winner has banked $163,413 in 11 starts.
Making his first start since winning the EVD Derby last December, Apollitical Ike was a head back to earn $5,280 for third. Trainer Victor Oviedo tapped jockey Francisco Calderon to ride the Apollitical Blood 4-year-old out of Eye This Candy by Pyc Paint Your Wagon. Mike and Leslie Turner bred the $111,547 earner in Texas.
Believe In Perry, The Swamp, Rustys Cowgirl, Eye Eye Dynasty, Striking Breeze, and Liberty For Jess completed the field. Cowboys Gun Z was scratched.
