WYNNEWOOD, OK–AUGUST 13, 2026–Third-year sire Chilitos is putting together a season defined by records, stakes performers and success across both AQHA and APHA competition.

His runners have established new track records, filled stakes finals and pushed his progeny earnings to nearly $5 million. But over a 48-hour span at The Downs at Albuquerque, two of his offspring added another distinction to his growing resume by producing the fastest trial performances in the history of two of Quarter Horse racing's signature events.

It started Friday with Chile Gato.

On the opening day of trials for the Grade 1, $3 million All American Futurity, the world's richest Quarter Horse race, Chile Gato made his first official Quarter Horse start one to remember.

The sorrel colt broke well under champion jockey Francisco Calderon in the eighth of 14 trials before drawing clear to defeat Grade 1-placed Ask Her To Fly by 1 1/4 lengths.

His time of :20.911 for 440 yards earned a 102 speed index and stood as the fastest qualifier going into the finals. It also became the fastest 440-yard All American Futurity trial time ever recorded, defeating a mark that had stood for 19 years.

Four-time champion Heartswideopen established the previous record in 2007 when she stopped the clock in :20.921 during the All American Futurity trials.

Adding another layer to Chile Gato's accomplishment is a pedigree connection to the very horse whose record he broke.

Chile Gato's third dam, Dashing Phoebe, is the dam of Heartswideopen. The champion daughter of Dash For Cash now appears in the pedigree behind two generations responsible for the fastest All American Futurity trial performances nearly two decades apart.

Owned and bred in Texas by Omar Paredes, Chile Gato is trained by Jed Vane and was ridden by Calderon. The sorrel colt is out of Famous Phoebe, by Dash Ta Fame.

Chilitos did not have to wait long for another runner to make history.

Just two days after Chile Gato broke the 440-yard All American Futurity trial time, Full Moon Desire delivered a record-setting performance of her own in the Grade 1, $694,186 All American Oaks trials.

Five 440-yard trials for 3-year-old fillies were contested Sunday over a fast racing surface, with the 10 fastest qualifiers advancing to the September 6 final.

Full Moon Desire took command of the fourth trial and went on to win by one length under jockey Juan Pulido. The 1-10 favorite broke on top and was kept to task throughout, crossing the wire in :20.850 and earning a 103 speed index.

The clock confirmed another milestone for Chilitos.

Full Moon Desire's :20.850 was the fastest qualifying time among the 10 finalists and the fastest trial time in All American Oaks history.

Heber Deyta-Melendez trains Full Moon Desire for Leviram Racing LLC. Bred in Texas by Juan M. Jr. and Jairo Lozano, she is out of Mystical Desire, by Desirio. She was an $11,000 purchase at the 2024 TQHA Yearling Sale.

The victory improved Full Moon Desire's record to five wins and one second from eight starts. She entered the trials with earnings of $236,623 after finishing second in the Miss Retama Stakes on July 24. Last season, she captured the EVD Futurity (G2).

Two days and two historic All American trial performances gave Chilitos another showcase on Quarter Horse racing's biggest stage, but his runners were making an impact elsewhere as well.

In APHA competition, Chilitos sired five of the 10 finalists for the Grade 3 Colors of the Alamo Paint & Appaloosa Futurity on Thursday, accounting for half of the field in the August 22 final.

Even more impressive, his runners swept the top three qualifying positions.

Miss Chilitos led the qualifiers in :17.845, followed by JVM Hot Victoria in :18.023 and Muy Piscosita EG in :18.199.

The group brings more than fast trial times into the final. Miss Chilitos has earned $70,924 and finished third in the Grade 2 Colors of Houston Futurity. JVM Hot Victoria has earned $33,646 and is already a multiple stakes winner after capturing the Grade 2 Colors of Houston Futurity and the TBHBA Paint Horse Juvenile.

With five finalists and the three fastest qualifiers, Chilitos will be well represented when the Colors of the Alamo Futurity is decided.

The recent performances are part of a larger trend for the double-registered AQHA/APHA sire.

Full Moon Desire and Chile Gato join other Chilitos runners who have already put their names in the record books. APHA World Champion Jc Speeding established a new track record at Remington Park, while Jackson Davis 747 set a track record at Lone Star Park.

Jc Speeding added to the sire's All American weekend representation Sunday by qualifying for the $100,000 All American Invitational, giving Chilitos three runners returning to Albuquerque for All American weekend in September.

The dual-registered Jc Speeding has earned $374,678. He won the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity (G2) last year before finishing second in the All American Futurity. This season, he has added runner-up finishes in the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Derby (G1) and Heritage Place Derby (G2).

The depth of Chilitos' record continues to grow with each crop.

His progeny have earned nearly $5 million, including more than $1 million in 2026 alone. He has sired 35 black-type horses and 18 stakes winners, while 11 of his runners have surpassed $100,000 in earnings. His starters are averaging more than $27,000 on the racetrack.

His leading performers include Holy Guacamolee SI 102 ($444,393), Jc Speeding SI 99 ($374,678), Ima Chili SI 105 ($241,561), Full Moon Desire SI 100 ($236,623) and Reletless Politics SI 92 ($205,560).

Chilitos has ranked among the leading sires with every crop to race, and the demand for his offspring is beginning to mirror what they are accomplishing on the track.

His foals have averaged nearly $43,000 at the 2026 sales to date and more than $27,500 on the track. With nearly $5 million in total progeny earnings and more than $1 million earned in 2026, the third-year sire continues to add numbers to an already expanding record.

Whether it is a Quarter Horse classic, Paint and Appaloosa stakes competition, a track record or the sales ring, Chilitos runners are showing up.
