WHEELOCK, TX–JUNE 8, 2026–GF Shes Sinful gave leading second-crop sire Dulce Sin Tacha a major Grade 1 breakthrough Saturday night when she turned her fastest-qualifier billing into a record-setting victory in the $744,580 Ruidoso QH Derby-G1 at The Downs at Albuquerque.
Two weeks after posting the fastest qualifying time in the trials, the 3-year-old sorrel filly delivered a front-running performance in the 400-yard final. She broke on top under jockey Noe Garcia Jr. and never let the race get away from her, drawing clear by one length in :18.925 while earning a 107 speed index.
The clocking broke the stakes record that had stood since 2004, set by Jess Rapid. GF Shes Sinful also became the only horse to break the 19-second barrier in the Ruidoso Derby since the race’s inception in 1952.
The victory was her first career stakes win and came with a winner’s share of $312,693, pushing her career bankroll to $359,456. It also improved her record to five wins from six starts.
GF Shes Sinful entered the Ruidoso Derby off a 10th-place finish in last year’s Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity, the only start in which she has missed the winner’s circle. She returned this season ready to make that loss look like an exception, and her Ruidoso Derby performance confirmed her place among the top 3-year-old fillies in the country.
Owned by All In Partners, GF Shes Sinful is trained by Wes Giles. Bred by Kevin Birrell, the $50,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate is out of the stakes-winning Foose mare BF Fooserageous.
Dulce Sin Tacha also made his presence felt in the Ruidoso QH Derby with Envestor, who posted the 10th-fastest qualifying time in the trials for owners Richard Young, Joe David Yates, and Zack Stinebaugh. Also trained by Stinebaugh, the talented bay gelding returned in the final to finish fourth.
Envestor has won five of seven starts and has banked nearly $409,000 in his young career. He was also fourth in last year’s All American Futurity-G1. Bred in Arkansas by Belinda Shaw, Envestor is out of Poof Shes Gone by Stoli.
The big weekend did not stop with the Derby. Dulce Sin Tacha also sired two qualifiers into the $1,000,000 Ruidoso QH Futurity-G1, Lethal Wind and Dulce Dreams.
Lethal Wind, a $105,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, returned in the Futurity final with a runner-up finish worth $180,000 under Noe Garcia Jr. Trainer Wes Giles saddled the gelding for owner Who N And Out.
The second-place effort was Lethal Wind’s third consecutive runner-up finish from three starts, raising his earnings to $187,160. Bred by Stone Chase Stables LLC, Lethal Wind is out of Lethal Breeze by Volcom.
Dulce Dreams also reached the Grade 1 Futurity as a finalist under jockey Christian Cardenas. James J. Gonzales III trains the $52,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate for AZ Field Services. Mark and Peggy Brown are the breeders.
Dulce Sin Tacha has more stakes representation ahead. He sired finalists in both the $234,050 Sam Houston Derby-G3 and the $176,250 Sam Houston Oaks, which will be contested Saturday, June 13. Heza Rusty Dulce posted the fifth-fastest time in the Derby trials, while Bm Candi Royale posted the fifth-fastest time in the Oaks trials.
Dulce Sin Tacha had already sired multiple black-type performers in 2026, but GF Shes Sinful gave him his first stakes winner of the season.
Last year, Dulce Sin Tacha led all first-year sires as the only stallion with money earners over $2 million. He is currently the number two leading second-crop sire in 2026. The son of champion Jess Good Candy has sired 28 winners and earners of nearly $1.4 million this season.
From two crops to race, Dulce Sin Tacha has been represented by 57 winners, 20 black-type horses, and earners of $3.3 million, with average earnings per starter of more than $27,500.
The 2020 and 2021 AQHA Racing Champion Colt stands at Granada Farms in Wheelock, Texas. Dulce Sin Tacha is owned and bred by Bob and Jerry Gaston and earned $693,689 on the track.
