OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MARCH 22, 2026–Rancho El Cabresto delivered a strong early-season statement Saturday, with two horses bred by the operation capturing stakes races on the same day at different tracks, further reinforcing its place among the nation’s elite breeders.
At Remington Park, AJ Remember Me lived up to his billing with a decisive score in the Grade 3, $259,655 Oklahoma Derby. Ridden by Juan Pulido for owner Corinna Sosa, the colt tracked the early leader before taking command midway and drew clear to a half-length victory, covering 350 yards in :17.454.
AJ Remember Me has lit the board in every start, and the effort marked his fifth career win from nine outings while pushing his earnings to $559,232. The Oklahoma Derby represented his first stakes victory, following a strong 2-year-old campaign that included a runner-up finish in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity (G1) and a third-place effort in the Ruidoso Futurity (G1).
The effort added $103,862 to his bankroll and further established him as a serious contender among this year’s top 3-year-olds.
At Louisiana Downs, AJ Cyclone kept the momentum rolling with a determined effort in the $160,500 Louisiana Downs Maiden Classic. Ridden by Jorge Garcia for owner Dennis Dreier, the gelding broke sharply and held his advantage late to secure the half-length victory, stopping the clock in :17.472 for 350 yards.
The win, worth $64,200, marked a significant milestone for AJ Cyclone, who has now compiled a record of 2-2-2 from nine starts with earnings of $209,014.
He has opened his 3-year-old campaign undefeated in two starts. He previously earned black type with a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Golden State Million Futurity.
Both horses are sired by Rancho El Cabresto's Apollitical Jess, who is the industry's leading living sire with more than $83 million in earnings. He stands at Royal Vista Ranch with a stud fee of $35,000.
The dual stakes victories highlight the continued strength and consistency of 2025 Oklahoma Champion Breeder Rancho El Cabresto, who currently sits among the top five leading breeders of 2026 and ranks second by win percentage.
“We’re very thankful to the owners, trainers, and jockeys who do such a great job developing these horses,” said Marbella Tirado of Rancho El Cabresto. “We’re proud to see horses we’ve bred compete and succeed at this level, and we appreciate everyone involved in giving them that opportunity.”
With success coming from multiple stakes winners across different states, Rancho El Cabresto continues to reinforce its reputation as a breeding program producing runners capable of competing—and winning—on any stage.
